Hearns master plan is coming into fruition, Usyk will drop his belt to get a shot at Fury, Joshua will sc**** back the vacant IBF after worming his way few a though a few cans to set up a Wilder bout,

Poor old Usyk will then hear Fury dig up some excuse about not caring about legacy to duck the fight at all cost’s and most probably retire or return to the WWE, Usyk will be left out to dry for the rest of his career fighting Klitchsko type opposition in the middle east while every American/English promoter under the sun avoids him.

Damn, I hope you are wrong! That would be so sad for the sport!

Have you ever considered writing dystopian sci-fi? You really know how to build a narrative that culminates in sheer bleakness

So just make Fury v Usyk, who cares if the IBF gets vacated in the process? undisputed is nice to see, makes a nice post fight photo, but it’s highly likely some belts would get vacated soon after anyway, so it’s really not worth being a deal breaker in terms of the fight happening or not.

Undisputed doesn’t necessarily mean the best is fighting the best anyway. Look at Inoue v Butler, a fight for all the belts that’ll be over as quick as Inoue wants it to be.

Fury and Usyk are the two best, everyone knows it, no matter if there’s 3 belts or 4 belts on the line. So **** the boxing politics and fight, vacate whatever makes it easier.

It would definitely be nicer to see it for all the belts but it’s not like anyone is gonna not watch it anymore because the IBF isn’t on the line
There’s only one problem: Fury doesn’t really want to fight Usyk.

It’s not “dystopian” - it’s the truth. Fury will fight the bum Chisora. Then he’ll say a Feb/March is too soon for him to get back in the ring to fight Usyk. Then he’ll say he can’t fight in the summer because he’s already signed up for a role in Sly Stallone’s dumb “Expendables” film or a WWE appearance - and give the “I never break me contracts” excuse. And then he’ll say he can’t fight Usyk in the winter because he hasn’t been in the ring for nearly a year and needs a tune-up fight to “get the rust off.”

meanwhile, Fury’s gullible fan base will eat it up.

We are looking at this all wrong. Why are we looking at why Usyk skipping out on a fight against Hrgovic when we should be asking ourselves, "Why is Hrgovic a MANDATORY in the first place?" Since when is he worthy? Seriously... who has he beaten to warrant a title shot? The IBF putting Hrgovic ahead of Ruiz is colossally ******. Mandatory challengers need to have walked through some kind of fire in order to get a title shot.

You already know the answer to this. Because fans love the shiny sanctioning body belts, there are four separate ranking systems which reduces overall quality. If we had one set of rankings (like the TBRB's) Hrgovic wouldn't be a mandatory.

There being four sanctioning bodies provides far more opportunity to fighters, particularly unknown ones like Hrgovic, to achieve greatness in the ring and financial success outside of it.

This idea that boxing would be better off with one belt like the UFC is a falsity.

What's up with theses fights being held in the Middle East these days? Do they even like boxing over there, or is it just a money thing?
