A champion can vacate the title to avoid the mandatory, they can move up or down in weight to avoid the "mandatory challenger", but they CANNOT CHERRY PICK. Because boxing is REGULATED: meaning all sanctioned Boxing Champions (whether it be wbc, wba, wbo or ibf) have to fight their mandatory challenger within a specified period of time or be stripped of their title.

      His legacy is already secured
But you can't take your legacy to the bank and deposit it.

That's the problem with just being a money chaser. You lose sight of the big picture.

Floyd fully accepted B-Side with De La Hoya and beat the odds to become the money draw. Now it's easy money.

If Crawford had accepted his B-Side with Spence and found a way to win, he might be making Mayweather money by now.
Yup. People are forgetting this. Floyd accepted B-side status, beat Oscar and became a super star.

Than Manny beat even older Oscar and also became a super star.

Where in my post did I say anything about a fighter betting on themselves?? What are you like 9 years old?? I said boxing is regulated: Champions MUST FIGHT their mandatory challenger or be stripped! Sanctioning bodies wbc, wba, wbo and ibf and a boxing commission in each state do exist and they regulate boxing. You can't even stepped into a boxing ring and spar as an amature at your local rec center without being licensed.

You’re referring to regulations per state, not uniform regulation like the NBA or NFL. To make matters worse you cite orgs that can change rules as they choose. Drug testing is another part that flops everything…. Youre better off stating “rules” than regulated. Also mandos have inconsistencies themselves. Why? Because “petitions” can alter the nature of the rules… guess what orgs influence to make petitions? Orgs!

No they're NOT rules they're regulations. Figuring out silly ways to avoid boxing regulations don't mean they don't exist, it means they DO EXIST. If boxing regulations didn't exist boxers wouldn't be getting suspended or fined large sums of money for breaking those REGULATIONS. Novices like you wanna dream that boxing isn't being regulated so you can continue to make un-informed hair brain opinions about the sport of boxing. This entire discourse is getting ridiculous. If you don't think boxing is regulated call your states boxing commission. Or do your own research. I said what I said, to make matters worst you don't even understand what "mandatory challenger" means.

Floyd will stop being a capitalist the day Goldman Brothers stop being capitalists.

You lost me… you can’t buy without paying for it. Some basic common sense has been glorified to “regulation?”

You don't like the idea of "regulation". You win a title you gotta defend that title. Sanctioning bodies exist to regulate the pecking order of championship caliber fighter's. A newly crowned champion can't just "cherry pick" through a crop of fighters at their own discretion and pick who they wanna fight. The sanctioning body is gonna tell that champion who his mandatory challenger is. They're championship caliber fighters moving up and down the ladder, right now that a fickle puplic knows very little about. Most un-knowledgeable fans had Dimitry Bivol rated as an underdog to canelo alvarez. The boxing commission and the wbc, wbo, wba or the ibf can't leave boxing to a bunch of fans common sense because the public aren't following these fighters the way the sanctioning bodies are following them.
