Those are lousy numbers and they are not rising, they are losing on these sham PPVs for fake belts. That is why they were so desperate for Jake Paul, and those are not doing well either. Serves them right give fans trash and they will find ways to watch that don't give Showtime a dime.

How are those numbers lousy? Tank is the biggest draw at 135 bar none. Haney, Loma, and Ryan can't even get a PPV because their numbers aren't big enough and their promoters don't want to lose money. Tank sells out the venue and does pretty good PPV numbers, especially for his weight class. He broke the record for the gate at the Barclay Center and in Atlanta. The only way any of the top fighters at 135 gets a PPV is to fight Tank, which is the reason Ryan wants the fight so bad. Its not because he has confidence that he could beat Tank, its that after fighting him, win or lose, he becomes a PPV boxer for the rest of his career.

Lmfao dudes trying to make it about race… like we haven’t been through this before. Has nothing to do with race, plenty of just as protected boxers as tank of all walks of life. The fact is folks can’t handle the critique of tank because they’ve been talking him up for years when we all know he’s another Broner 2.0 with more pop. Dude hasn’t fought a single fighter that makes him seem elite outside of his power. We’ve seen him look bad when he can’t stop his opponent. I wish folks would stop putting pedestals on fighters before they have an actual elite opponent on their resume. That includes Mungia, boots, Ortiz, Garcia, and punching bag #2 the second coming of provdnikov in issac Cruz. I still laugh at folks thinking Cruz is special because he managed to not get knocked out. The hypocrisy and deflecting here is incomparable to any other sport.

Russell would make sense for the particular location. GRJ is also coming off a loss and inujry, so he'll be perceived as low-risk.

I personally would prefer one eyed semi-retired Mares over GRJ at 135 lbs coming off a loss...but these matchups are both garbage and is like asking me whether I want death by electrocution or fire

I saw the GRJ rumor on a boxing news account I follow on Insta.

Its a bad fight for everyone. Mares. Tank. The fans. I just don't see why they can't just get a decent top 20 lightweight. Mares is old he's a featherweight he's got eye problems if it went past 4 rounds than I'd be shocked. It's just serving everyone crap but then being arrogant enough to think your serving them fillet mignon

Well, the fans can always vote with their feet and their $$s.
