Canelo Alvarez(2017) vs Dwight Muhammad Qawi (1981)

Who you taking? Title says 2017 Canelo, but should read 2019, he would have a slight height advantage, but I think he gets demolished by the Buzzsaw

Qawi works him, and Canelo could never go 15 rounds

Canelo can't go 12 rounds reliably, but lets say this is a 12 round fight

        I'm going with Qawi.

And old Qawi gave a young, in his prime Holyfield holy-hell.

        He'd buzzsaw Canelo.

Canelo gassed against 40 Y/O GGG who took the first 6 rounds off, Canelo is getting stopped by Qawi. He's not getting the mercy treatment that Bivol gave him.

Qawi wins almost all of the rounds but edges a majority decision due to corruption

If fights were 15 rounds they would go 15 rounds, it's only relative to pace and intensity, they weren't any fitter or any tougher, just like the sloths that did 50 rounds same deal, pace and intensity, there is no basis or science that says fighters today cant do 15 rounds, its only because fighters today leave it in the ring over 12 rounds so fans think they cant do 3 more, its pure fan logic.

And to the thread, Canelo is a MW he is not a LHW, fantasy fights should match them at their best weights not their worst weights.

                  - - Qawi just squeezed into 175 same day weighins as a literal stump, ie easily 180 come fight time, same as Canelo.

Canelo wouldn't have to do more than layback and counter all night, his natural style. MSpinks beat him imposing height and reach with spearing jab and occasional Jinxes.

Dunno if Canelo beats him, and certainly not beat Spinks either, but this would be a good fight. Canelo whacks harder when he wants, so might be a fav for that reason as Qawi loses his short height leverage against taller fighters.

All that you said is possible I just don't think Canelo should be above 160, I feel his best boxing is at MW.
