Janibek Is The Poor Man's Golovkin

I've been seeing these comparison's to Golovkin, as if he's the second coming, but this guy isn't even the shadow of Golovkin. Had Golovkin fought Bentley at the same age as Janibek, this fight wouldn't have seen the third round. Golovkin would have annihilated him.

I suppose Andrade is kicking himself for ducking Janibek now. That would have been an interesting fight.

We'll see how his career pans out. I don't doubt Bentley is an excellent boxer, but Janibek is supposed to be an outstanding boxer. The hype on this guy is premature.

Think I'm being harsh on Janibek or do you guys agree?

I don’t think he fights anything like GGG tbh.

I see a few shades of Calzaghe in him, they’re not identical by any means though.

Outside of being central asian they're nothing alike. Old GGG probably pushes his **** in.

Yeah. Totally true. I was just comparing him to Golovkin because that’s what some reference him to, because I’d the knockouts I assume and that he’s from the same country. But they don’t fight alike at all. I just think calling him a boogeyman was premature. Probabaly Mark Kriegal’s doing and now Janibek will get the blow back. Lol. Typical Kriegal.

I remember seeing a post before the fight where someone said that GGG was "incredibly powerful" but implied that Janibek is the more skillful of the two. Firstly, GGG and Janibek's methods/styles aren't that similar. Secondly, it remains to be seen if Janibek is more skilled as he hasn't fought similar caliber of opposition. Third, too much is being made of Janibek's power. He has respectable power, but GGG's power instilled fear into his opponents.

I've long felt that Andrade should've fought Janibek because Janibek is still unproven. As Janibek gains experience and develops under Buddy McGirt, he's going to become a tougher foe. I think that Denzel Bentley, much like Craig Richards before he fought Bivol, was being underestimated. Janibek is a good fighter and clearly beat Bentley, but I didn't expect Janibek to run through him.

I highly doubt it. Without Hearn, Andrade vs Jenibek is a Top Rank event. Activity vs Skill. Work rate vs Sharpness. Andrade gets weird cards, probably a decision to Jenibek. Again, he offers Andrade nothing at this point in his career. He's kicking himself over Parker, letting it get to the BS Warren 2nd purse when he had 1 million when Hearn bid. Nobody knows Jenibek

Janibek's output is mediocre. He attempted only 500 punches. I give credit for Janibek's accuracy. They're nothing similar.

Yeah. But looking at it from before the Bentley fight is how Andrade was looking at it. To be honest I have no idea what goes on in Andrade's head. I've never seen a guy make worse decisions. But he might have dodges a bullet with Parker. The more I thought about the Parker fight, the more I thought Andrade was going to get stopped.

I was thinking about Janibek this morning, and I wonder if he's with the right trainer. I noticed that his fight style is changing. He's fighting with a very American style, which shows the Buddy influence. I wonder how Janibek would do with a Robert Garcia or some other trainer that's going to make him more of an offensive machine. I wonder if Janibek is with the wrong trainer right now.

When I compared him to Golovkin, it was based on:
                  1. Same country, so there's been a lot of article written where Golovkin's name and Janibeks' name are in the same sentence.
                  2. Janibek is supposed to be a KO artist like Golovkin.
                  3. Janibek fights at middleweight, just like Golovkin.
                  4. Janiibek is supposed to be a boogieman, just like Golovkin had been.
So there's quite a few similarities between the two. Maybe Janibek should start fighting more like Golovkin. I'm not sure I like what Buddy is doing with him.

not the puncher I thought he was, I would like to see him against someone like Eubank or that Ukranian Tommy Hearns kid last week on DAZN

I think Eubank wins that one.
