Daniel Roman really overachieved as a fighter

Guy started out 8-2-1 in his first eleven fights, went abroad, became champion, defended it, unified and lost the titles to a contested decision to the number 2 in the division.

    Then gracefully retired.

I always liked this guy because he was incredibly meek and humble whilst being a subtle technician in the ring. A jack of all trades, master of none.

Would have loved for him to have beaten MJ and Fulton then faced off with the monster.

He beat MJ and got jobbed on the cards I thought. Fulton was a level above.

Fulton was just too young and I thought Roman probably already decided to retire before that fight

Yeah he probably already had one foot out the door at that point.
