Comments Thread For: Conor Benn Removed From WBC Rankings, Met With 'Show Cause' Letter By WBO

This week will likely go down as yet another to forget for Conor Benn. It was revealed during the ratings portion of the annual WBC convention Tuesday afternoon in Acapulco, Mexico that the second-generation boxer was removed from the sanctioning body's welterweight rankings. Benn and promoter Matchroom Boxing have been presented with a Show Cause Notice from the WBO, who have granted a ten-day period from November 8 to show proof as to why the Puerto Rico-headquartered organization shouldn't follow the WBC's lead.

"...as he and his team continue its own investigation in an effort to clear his name". This is obfuscation, he's not a large corporate entity but an individual. There are a limited number of ways that substance could have entered his body and he must know how it got there.

Does this mean no “American takeover” or “global domination”?

So even though it seems Conor Benn would sooner say nothing than defend himself but 'Matchroom boxing' are STILL arguing that he be rated by the governing bodies. He has by his own admission FAIL TWO DRUGS TESTS but still they try to bend the rules. Should it not be an automatic ban on a failed Drugs test until the fighter gives evidence to prove it was wrong for whatever reason. Edward Hearn at Matchroom could not be any clearer here , he does NOT want his fighters being dropped from ratings or being banned from fighting just because of a failed drugs test as on both counts he has objected to this happening.

If his name was Conor Benitez from Guadalajara, he’d get a Wbc free get out of your positive test pass and given a title shot asap.
