Atm Bivol is in driver's seat by beating two top mexican fighters. Of course that Canelo gave to Bivol the opportunity to shine but it was Canelo's choice to challenge Bivol. Indeed Bivol could go down at 168 lbs for a big amount of money but realistically the fit fighters that cut muscle mass to go down in weight classes are risking to not be the same fighters again.

Bivol is still young and in his prime but Beterbiev is almost 38 y/o, so time is ticking for him. Artur'd need to cash in somehow in the near future. If Bivol would fight Beterbiev and beat him to become the unified lhw champion then he'd have a lot of leverage and power to negotiate the rematch with Canelo. Also I guess that Canelo would want even more to fight the unified lhw champion to enhance his ATG status.

I don't want to see Bivol lose to Canelo due to rehydration clauses and daylight robbery IF he does go down this route do it AFTER Beterbiev, waiting till after Ramadan isn't too much to ask for what could be the most significant fight in recent times.
