Fans always make the mistake of writing guys off just because they don’t them. I personally never heard of Ortiz and the only fight I had to reference was his last fight against Herring. It was hard to take much away from it because Herring imo was already beyond shot and it wasn’t a dominating performance from Ortiz.

He looked like he improved a lot since then in his fight against Loma. Part of it is probably because he sparred so many rounds with Loma, and he knew his tricks and what was in front of him. He definitely wasn’t a dear in the headlights. Would love to see him mix it up with Shakur or any of the top guys at 135

You think so? I thought he gave Herring a boxing lesson. It was a very dominant performance. I was sure if Herring was shot or not because of his fight with Shakur, but he fought Shakur like a man already beaten. I thought Bo Mac was one of the worst trainers in a corner I had seen in that fight. He had Herring walking into Shakur's left the whole fight, but then again, every time Herring fights a decent southpaw, he get's his ass whooped. When Herring moved on to Robles, I thought it was a great move. I also saw Ortiz fight Adorno, and aside from a bogus knockdown called in that fight, he put a boxing lesson on Adorno too, who's pretty good.

Point is that I knew this was going to be a difficult fight for Loma, especially when Ortiz had fought twice already that year and Loma not at all. Ortiz is very talented. That's why he's getting this attention from Top Rank.

I like this guy. He needs to tighten up his style tho. He was unnecessarily all over the place in the Lomachicken fight.

Kid is a HUGE 135 so maybe 140 would be best and it will allow him to have better Stamina because he wouldn't have to suck down anymore
The stamina is hard to critique him on because it was Loma. But yea, he'll be getting some big fights and hopefully make a **** ton of money.

In boxing styles make the fight ortiz is a good fighter he can beat haney, kambosos not bad on haney has nothing on his resume either and his unification is fraud against a not good kambosos he should thank lomachenko for getting the belt because lomachenko would have made a nomas with kambosos or knocked him out and got all the prestige haney gets unnecessarily he beat a weakest champion at 135liv kambosos now he's gonna run away at 140 he eats like a pig is fat like a 160

Well, I'm definitely looking forward to it. Ortiz did a lot better than I thought he would do against Lomachenko.

I don't think Zepeda would take a risk fighting Ortiz for his next fight.

Ortiz is live against any of the lightweights, except possibly Stevenson.

I could see him fighting for a vacant belt in a couple years. Loma was just busier and landed cleaner in the last 2rds. I had it 7-5 Loma.
