Why not fight a WW? What lower ranked WW(Quintana, Collazo, etc.) has as big as a following as Marquez?

But this fight should not have been PPV...
Recent reports have the fight doing around or over 1 million buys. WHy the *** would you not put that fight on PPV?

the same reason Shane MOsley fought Estrada after getting whipped by Winky Wright.

I can give you 4 reasons:

              Money
              Money
              Money
              More money

That's all it was about: Getting casual fans roped into spending money on a one-sided fight so he can put a few bucks back in his pocket and pay off his debts. Right about now, he's praying to every God he can think of that Pacman beats Cotto, so he can get another big money fight paid for by fools with another guy who's way to small to present any reasonable challenge.

If there truly is a God, then he'll give Pacman the opportunity to land that one lucky punch that will put Mayweather on ***** street long enough for Pacman to finish him off and win by KO, shutting Money the **** up for good, and sending him into permanent retirement.

Fact remains - if you put a fight that over a million people are prepared to pay $50 to watch on normal HBO you have made an error. Not the other way round.

Yep, hard to justify tossing $50,000,000+ down the ****ter. I'm sure I'd have made the same decision, but I'd also like to think I'd have tried to give the fans their money's worth.

Yeah, that's not what business is about though is it?

HBO provided a product and around 1 million ppl thought it represented something of appropriate value to spend $50.
