Comments Thread For: Dmitry Bivol Dominant in Decision Win Over Gilberto Ramirez To Retain WBA Title

Zurdo produced the performance i expected which is to say no real performance whatsoever.
Felt Bivol was the king of 75 since early 2018 and got laughed at for it but now people are starting to sit up and pay attention to Bivol, I wasn't too sure he beats Beterbiev somewhere in the range of 60:40 back then but now I'm thinking 70:30.
Beterbiev is old, the injures are racking up and his last few performances have been lacklustre.Last edited by Boro; 11-05-2022, 06:26 PM.Shadoww702 likes this.

Well, it did seem like Ramirez didn't fight aggressively as much, but Bivol deserves a lot of credit.
Bivol intelligently took the centre of the ring from the first round, and basically did what he wanted to for most of the fight. Dmitry is very hard to hit cleanly, and his stats say he has the best defence in boxing.
It's certainly up there, whose defence can compare? Shakur that I can think of. But yes, Bivol is high level, pound for pound one of the best.

Terrible scores, terrible announcing! Watch the fight on mute and you get a whole different perspective. For those who see for themselves. Although Zurdo didn't do what he expected he did enough. A flurry here and there shouldn't win a round. Had to figure it would in this case. However, if honestly judging the fight you could give rounds 2,3,4,9,10 and 11 all to Zurdo. Up 1 going in to the last and that could a gone either way.

IMO, Zurdo wasn’t in the fight at all! He didn’t use his height, reach, or pressure. This was an embarrassment to Mexican style boxing as he waited to get hit while then throwing weak counter responses as he retreated most of the fight. Zurdo’s corner needs to be replaced with real coaches if he wants to continue boxing… they looked lost and gave Zurdo useless information.

Zurdo needed more balls. He didnt use his size or pressure. He wanted to use the distance, but was too slow. Props to Bivol. Benavidez should step up and fight Bivol. **** Plant.Last edited by boxingitis; 11-05-2022, 06:37 PM.charliepaerker

Boxing scoring is definitely subjective and many scores could be considered reasonable but I'd suggest yours is probably an outlier.
