Comments Thread For: Chantelle Cameron Boxes Past Jessica McCaskill, Wins Decision To Become Undisputed

Chantelle Cameron soundly outboxed one of the sport's best pound-for-pound boxers to prove her place among the elite. A terrific boxing display by the unbeaten Brit paved the way for the crowning of an undisputed junior welterweight

Shocking that McCaskill could be undisputed at 147. She's a terrible poor fighter and this should be a wake up call for female boxing. We all know it's brilliant at 135 and 130 but it shouldn't have to fall on Katie and Mikaela shoulders to carry the sport. The truth is Katie would have beating both these girls on the same night if she had to. Unfortunately the quality is not in female boxing outside of 130 and 135.

I remember her being a real negative presence on the Taylor/Serrano broadcast fight to the point I felt it was a real shame she had a microphone. She was really down on Taylor and Serrano at different times in what was a great fight - in the biggest and best female fight of all time.

I thought it might just he sour g****s and maybe she had improved since Taylor beat her.

Now getting soundly outboxed again by another decorated amateur.

She should probably critique herself. She likely isn't as good as some of these girls.

Katie is sloppy as hell and will be beaten by Chantelle if she takes the fight. It isn't Chantelle's problem if McCaskill couldn't compete with her. However, a fresher Katie struggled in a close fight against a less experienced McCaskill. If the fight goes down, you're going to be very disappointed with the outcome and how easy it will be.

Hell, Chantelle's timing, skill and stamina may get Katie out of there down the stretch.

Cameron was clearly the superior fighter. I'm not sure how Braekhaus lost to McAskill. Age?

Age and I think the standard of womens boxing is probably quickly growing beyond certain fighters that were once considered good. It’s still not a great standard but improving.

Remember womens UFC did that, Rousey was beating everyone but then the standard grew at a fast rate and upcoming fighters quickly overtook her and she couldn’t compete.

Anyway, Chantelle Cameron is one of the best in womens boxing. Many in the UK have been tipping her to beat Katie Taylor as a pro if they fight.

I never thought McCaskill won the first fight against Cecilia. Yes she won the 2nd but her technique is terrible. No jab and just walk forward and wing punches.

Sid-Knee "a fresher Katie struggled in a close fight against a less experienced McCaskill." What utter rubbish. McCaskill is 38 yrs old mate. Think without bias.
Taylor was 7-0, McCaskill was 6-1. Same pro fights. Taylor 22 points to MaCaskill 5. Thats with Taylor being deducted a point across three judges. McCaskill got two rounds max from the judges. Taylor now36yrs old 16 title fights. Cameron 31, 4 title fights. Camerons got a long way to go.
