Seems Max may have fumbled a bit Sat nite controlling the Floyd Shane confrontation. He also had some strange comments about Floyd blaming the press for his woes afterward.... any comments?
Max Kellerman On his way in or out?

yeah. I think Kellerman was borderline offensive. And not because I'm a Mayweather fan- if it were for any boxer, his conduct was worthless. He's a failed white rapper and extremely annoying, but that was never a reason to hate him- but yes, he seems to have forgotten the name on the tickets and the marquee was MAYWEATHER not KELLERMAN. Did he consider that the people who paid their hard-earned $50 might want to hear what the champ had to say?
Whats sad is that it was a until-now, unseen facet of Floyd's personality.. to say; "I can get better".. then be pulled into Kellerman's instigation..ugh.
When Floyd took the mic, anyone in television would have thought; ok, this could translate to more publicity. Instead, Kellerman, like a spoiled little kid, decides HE (!) wont let Floyd have the last word, and nervously gets Jim Lampley back to cut Floyd off- offensive.
Next, Kellerman really proved why he needs a slap, or at least a reminder that he has an unwarranted sense of self-importance. He somehow implies that Floyd is obligated to him in a sense because hes "always been appreciative", as if his job wasn't to be fair and unbiased whether he appreciates a boxer or not? To say that Floyd "didn't do himself any favors" was laughable and anger inducing. Yes, because Max F**king Kellerman is such an influencial figure in professional boxing. It was the first time I really thought some sort of punishment needed to be shown to a commentator. Offensive. -
Nothing poor about Kellerman. He was brought in because the 'wisdom' at HBO Sports assumed he'd relate to a younger audience. I'm in my 20s and give me Jim Lampley any day. It's up to him to conduct himself properly, and be appreciative at the position he has, even if he worked to a degree to get there, and not have this sense that ANY boxer needs to 'do himself a favor' with he, or any other, commentator. Commentators are appreciated, its true- but they are never going to be more important, or above, a fighter. remember it.
and if you feel sorry for Kellerman, go YouTube his rap video from the 90s'. you'll want to punch him in the throat then. his facial expressions and head movement alone on the parts where Max is rapping is... well, you'll see.Comment

I like Max Kellerman. Love him or hate him he does his job as a reporter and asks the questions that need to be asked. And that doesnt just apply to Floyd. I think he did a great job doing the post fight interviews for Diaz-Malignaggi and Bradley-Campbell as well.Comment

to me, all his good points are slipping now, that he implied ANY pro fighter isn't doing themselves a favor by giving him the answers that he wants. Kellerman can go tomorrow; boxing greats and boxing journeymen will still be here. its about time the sport wasn't controlled by suits, promoters, and politicians. Kellerman sucks... as of right now.Comment
