  • Comments Thread For: Amanda Serrano-Erika Cruz Undisputed Championship Ordered By WBA

Amanda Serrano is now officially within a conversation of fighting to become Puerto Rico's first-ever undisputed champion. If the reigning unified featherweight titlist gets her way, the next two fights will leave her on the short list of fighters to claim undisputed status at two weights.

Serrano is going to regret the day she refused the Katie rematch, what was she thinking turning down 1.5 million dollars or more to fight Katie Taylor again? Now she has to fight for undisputed for 100 thousand if she's lucky. Obviously money doesn't interest serrano, or is it she knows she can't bother Katie and wouldn't be able for two losses against Katie Taylor. I think it's latter. She's afraid of Katie and is seeing out her career by picking up 70 grand fights here and there. Time to step up Mikaela and see can you bother the greatest female fighter ever in Katie Taylor

The thing I hate most about boxing rules is if a fighter in one round beats another practically from pillar to post and has that fighter hurt many times, a 10-9 round is criminal. It should be a 10-8 round. That means if the fighter who wasn't hurt loses the next round by a slight margin and was never hurt, means on the scorecard they are even. And to make matters worse is if a fighter is dropped with a flash knockdown is not at all hurt and bounces up, why the hell does the other fighter get a two point round and a fighter who beats the other one from pillar to post only get a 10-9! I don't mind a two-point round for dropping an opponent but damnit - give the pillar to post fighter a two-point loss!! No one was dropped in their fight - just using that in a comparative analysis but the other stuff happened.

You might want to check on the rules my casual friend. 10-8 rounds rarely ever come without a knock down. Katie Taylor was giving back loads to the coward in round 5. Serrano burnt herself out and didn't even win the round overwhelmingly, as only one judge gave her 10-8, just get over brother, serrano got beat by the better woman. Actually much better as will be the same in a rematch. So stop crying you gob****e

Serrano regrets not stopping Taylor in that fifth round. I had a feeling the judges would rob Amanda. Oddly, she seemed ok with that decision and happy to get the check.

Serrano is going to beat the crap out of Cruz if the fight ever get's made, then she's going to go after Taylor's scalp!

Lmao never have I seen someone in such denial.

Bias at it's finest, Taylor did well in the later rounds and I would've been ok with a draw but holy **** dude the fact you are trying to say that Taylor offered anything in that round is hilarious if there was ever the need for a 10-8 round without a knockdown that is the perfect example.

I just wished like hell Serrano had gotten a 10-8 round when she was blasting Taylor from pillar to post. Some Boxing rules or traditions are bad for the sport when one fighter only gets a 10-9 round for putting a serious beating on a fighter - and the other fighter who barely edges the other fighter in a different round gets a 10-9.

Another great example is when Josesito Lopez was given a 10-8 round vs Keith Thurman by all 3 judges in round 7. I'm a Thurman fan and I scored that round the same way. He didn't go down, but he got whooped in that round. Of course, judge Don Ackerman scored the fight a draw somehow though Lopez got his butt kicked in practically every other round and even got dropped in the 2nd.

There’s no appeal to Taylor-Serrano II: Serrano just wants the check and Taylor just wants the ego boost of saying she fought a stadium fight in Ireland, even if it won’t come close to filling it. Taylor is the most overrated fighter in boxing today.
