I'm certain that happened exactly how you described it.

"more than half".. ..and "the other half"...

It is telling that none of the posters above even addressed the OP referring to blacks as "chimps".

I don't see why so many people in here are bashing JMM after he went 12 rounds with the man who could possibly be the greatest of all time, and P4P King, going the distance against a younger, bigger, and faster guy who was supposed to have dismantle him says alot about JMM, he's a true warrior in my book!
tell you what, take a few days off from the forums. hopefully it will prove to be the****utic.

the race thing is ridiculous. go to bushwick or brooklyn, or go to wilmington, de... these are all tough, urban areas, where i've heard feedback from african-americans, and none of the feedback was disrespectful towards Marquez.. just genuine excitement that there was a new Mayweather fight. nothing more, nothing less. the author of this post is basing this nonsense off of what, the people he talks too online? try going out in the real world. people either weren't familiar with Marquez or respected him anyway. i'd argue any boxing fan black *or* white respects hispanic fighters anyhow- as you should respect all fighters REGARDLESS of race. boxing isn't so much a racial sport, as it has ethnic fanbases. i say that from being, more than once, the only white guy in the gym. or being the only white Hopkins fan in Atlantic City. i honestly don't believe, based on what i've observed and experienced, that boxing is as "racial" as people say... it is what people make it.

I think that JMM gain alot of respect when he fought MP. On the first fight, MP knocked him to the ground three times. After the first round finish, he was gashing blood from his nose and mouth. You saw the upper part of the mouth very swollen and bloody. JMM continue the fight to earn a draw in that fight and never quit. That is a true boxer, never quit. Mad respect.
