    Mayorga to try MMA

Former welterweight and super-welterweight world champion Ricardo Mayorga says he wants to venture into mixed martial arts.

Terrible decision, hope he changes his mind quickly before he gets schooled. Although i'm sure he'll find a few people dumb enough to just stand with him first

I like the idea.. Mayorga's a scrapper, natural fighter. god knows how many street fights his been in Nicaragua. I think he would seriously hurt some1 dumb enough to stand with him.

Yeah i think any MMA-ist who stands with a top level boxer is in trouble but unless Ricardo is taking a few years to learn some ground game he has no hope lol. It's probably just a quick payday though

If anybody stands with him they're dead.

Ricardo loves a brawl, and with MMA gloves he could be lethal.

Terrible move, and it will only add to the boxing haters' argument that
          mma > boxing.

I think there are even a handful of mma fighters out there that can out box him. He's gonna get killed.

I might actually buy a MMA fight that Mayorga is in...

He can scrap, if he learns some ground techniques, or at least how to prevent them, it'll probably be entertaining.

Agreed^^ He has no hope. Im a bigger MMA fan than boxing but im not one of those idiots that thinks if Mayorga loses that means mma>boxing, that doesn't make sense. Same way if Mayweather Marquez sells more ppvs than ufc 103 that doesnt mean **** either coz ufc 103 was weak compared to other ufc cards. A lesnar card would **** a Mayweather card however, or any boxing card

You act like Mayorga had any real Boxing technique to begin with LOL!!! I can name 10 MMA fighters off the top of my head that are way better with their hands than Mayorga ever was.
