If he wins, there is no real money in it for the promotors, and Paul is making the cash register ring big time, so I'm a bit skeptical. You know how boxing is, or maybe you don't.
Yes I know how boxing is, obviously showtime & MVP want Paul to win. & Chavez-Silva was 8 rounds, but I get you’re point there, cause this fight is 8 rounds also.

I jumped the gun on saying you were making excuses, but you did say now if Paul hits him expect a early stoppage. Do you not expect Paul to land punches at all?

I’ve been a Silva fan since he came to the UFC and expect him to “outbox” Paul as well, but he’s gonna get hit, and likely by a multiple good shots. He’s been stopped before & now he’s much older, so a 25 year old with a big punch definitely could do it too.

But I guess we’ll see *Saturday if it’s not called off

8 rounds...you're right. Paul could get lucky...he IS a hard puncher, and he will definitely be banking on that, because he has little else. If Silva is on cue, I expect him to waltz thought this. But boxing is a very corrupt sport, so I'm cynical of an early stoppage if they can find 1/2 a reason, or a scorecard robbery. I mean, if Silva wins...he does not have the huge social media following like Paul, so what can they do with him?

It’s totally possible a early stoppage or robbery on the cards occurs. Though, I wouldn’t be too mad at a “early stoppage” depending on the situation, unless he’s visibly fine to continue, but I don’t want to see him potentially knocked unconscious at his age just to suffice the fans either.

Hell, if Silva KOs/TKOs him I wouldn’t be surprised, he’s that good of a striker imo.

Paul agreed at the press conference, they could do a kickboxing fight if Silva won, which I think would probably be much bigger than any of Paul’s boxing matches, unless he gets completely humiliated / outclassed Saturday

Silva would round house his head to the third row

Not sure how much you follow MMA, but another person at the PC mentioned Silva boxing George St. Pierre which would pretty big. Chavez Jr rematch maybe, and I wouldn’t be shocked if ol RJJ still wanted to fight Silva though that’s the last thing I want to see.

It’s definitely in the best interest of Showtime/MVP for Paul to win though to keep the money rolling

Been an MMA fan since Pride and have watched all the old original UFC from the Gracie/Shamrock/Sakuraba era. I'm a big Silva fan. I can't see a Chavez Jr rematch because Jr looked pathetic...who'd want to see that? I just saw today that Roy Jones Jr is doing another exhibition, so I can see that happening because Silva always wanted to fight him. At this point, I'd favour Silva. I'm also a big RJJ fan, but his body is so broken down now. I saw a video he did with his chiropractor, and it was very sad. GSP would be a big show from the MMA crowd, I guess, but still...Paul's social media following is 20 million. You can see why they'd need to protect him. Silva KO'd Tito Ortiz in a brutal fashion recently, I think he could have done well in boxing if he stuck with it from the start (youth age). Paul in a kick-boxing event with Silva would be death for Paul, he has to be dreaming.
