I'm not speaking against your poll, SRcrit- I agree with you, I enjoy discussions about boxing, obviously. My point was more that, there will never be any compromise or mutual respect between the 'for' and 'against' Mayweather camps. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: not too many boxers ever prompted so many people who hated him to keep buying his fights, and taking the time to complain about every single thing he does.

by which persons standards is this "real fight"? how good would you have done against Marquez, brother? it's almost as if Floyd is to blame for his opposition not being as good as him. even if people want Floyd to fight Mosley, forget about hope- in their heads, do they really think Floyd would be defeated? they might want him too- but if their lives were on the line to speak honestly, do they think he'd lose?

I don't think its as black and white as I love Floyd or I hate Floyd. I think Floyd is one of the best of his era. The problem I have with him is that he needs to fight a WW, and so far the people who voted agree.

And respectfully I ask you, 'so that means what'? The people who vote can agree or disagree with whatever they want.

If any other boxer took a "warm up" fight- they wouldn't be criticized. If any other boxer took a low-risk fighter (if you could call the former P4P #2 Marquez THAT) after their first fight in nearly 2 Years, they would NOT be criticized. This is a fact, not an opinion- it's been established that the same rules don't apply to Mayweather. For whatever reasons.

My point being, the fight was less than a week ago. Can we not be slightly patient and see what the next announced fight will be? "he needs to fight this guy! he needs to fight this weight!" Lets see what the next announcement is.

Doesn't mean anything. Just that NSB has for the most part reasonable posters and alot of people that don't like Floyd. The problem some people had with his tuneup fight was that they were marketing it as #1. When in reality it was as you said a warm up fight. Most boxing fans knew thats what it was as the poll shows. So as you also said lets see what happens next.

I didn't mean to say that I personally thought of it as a warm-up fight. Seeing that Marquez was #2 in the World.. I thought that sorta meant something. I guess not if you're biased!

My point was, even if it WAS a "tune-up", why is Floyd held to different standards than any other boxer... many many many great and ungreat boxers have taken tune-up fights, and were not so strongly criticized for it. Floyd didn't fight in 21 months, then picks the #2 Pound for Pound Fighter.. what could he have done to please you? If he had fought Arreola, and won, people would still complain.
