Juan Manuel Marquez vs Amir Khan @ 140 ::: Who Wins?

An interesting match up I think. It would probably be Khan's biggest challenge and it would mean a belt for Marquez @ 140 if he wins.. But who would be victorious in a fight between Amir Khan and Juan Manuel Marquez?

It depends ; none of us know what this Mayweather fight, the move up in weight, and now having to move back down so quickly is going to do to effect Juan Manuel.

I'd need see him take on somebody else at 140 in his first fight post-Mayweather before I could decide.

I think Khan would win by decision. Khan's defensive game is much improved and the smaller Marquez would struggle to find his mark. At 135 it is a different story. Khan is weakened to cut his weight, and Marquez carries much more power and speed.

      140 - Khan

      135 - Marquez

Khan by wide UD. I won't be surpised either if he gets the KO. JMM's best days are way past him. People are giving too much stock on his wins over Diaz and Casa.

I hear that, weight jumping is known to have an effect, especially when descending back down in weight I think. But assuming he had an impressive tune-up victory at JWW against a respected opponent, how would he fair against Khan?

I think this is a bad style and size match up for JMM.

Khan is bigger and has reach on JMM. Also, Khan will box instead of attack JMM. plus roach knows jmm's style. also Khan has good speed and is younger than JMM.

JMM should just go back to 135 lbs.

I had a similar outlook on this in relation to the weight. Added to the fact that Khan does perform well against shorter boxers, he'd definitely be in with a good shot at 140, whereas Marquez seems much more stable at 135.

Wow didnt think everyone would back Khan. IDK man I think Khan throws too many flurries which probably gives Marquez a chance to counter punch khan into a KO. Not like Marquez has never been knocked out before while Khan has.

I think Marquez should take a soft touch or two first to get accustomed to the weight again. After I see how he looks, I'll have a better idea of could win. Marquez's experience would give Khan some trouble, but Khan's hand speed would bother JMM.

Khan by UD, Marquez is giving up a lot of size i think and Khan is very very quick (quicker than floyd imo) and defensivley sound now. Theres the chance marquez lands something, but I think Khans chin is more solid now so that might not even do the job.
