remember around 05-06 when we were complaining about boxing didn't have enough casual fans? Now that it does, and they are posting on the forum & don't know jack **** about what they are talking about but posing as boxing scholars.. just remember WE asked for this. So we can't really complain. The forum has a lot more traffic running through it & with more traffic, of course, you get more douche bags & casual fans who think lulz pwn mayweather iz greatest of allz time cuhz! or bwahahahaha manny pacquiao destroy paul williams in twuo wounds!

I did like the website better when it was just the die hard boxing fans on here, I learned a lot about the sport & it's fighters. We had some really insightful threads and posters. Now, some of those posters have come and gone, some still post but not as much.. just remember though, when you look at the lounge in frustration.. this is the price we had to pay for boxing and boxingscene to thrive lol
just be glad boxing is a success again.

I gotta say ; I never really looked at it that way. I was mainly just so frustrated with NSB's general lack of intelligence, and common sense, that I was too busy pulling my hair out to think of it that way.

I don't know that casual fans take the time and initiative to join forums, and I don't know that die-hard, 'serious' boxing fans have ever been known to be utter geniuses, either. I think the 'casual' fan knows Oscar, and thats basically it... and they don't go to any trouble to watch a fight. If theres a sports bar playing a PPV, or something, they tend to watch- thats it.

There are no casual fans, because boxing is a niche sport. How hard would it be for Golden Boy or Top Rank to get some boxing on ABC every Friday night or something?

Basically, I just think some fans are fanatics, and you can't argue with them using logic. (as i've discovered) It's like that in any sub.culture, in any sport. Whatever. You can't change people, they have to want to change themselves. So I don't know that 'we' can blame ourselves... just ignore them, and they'll go away- or ignore them and at least you don't need to hear their nonsense.

before i joined boxingscene, i was on a forum where most are hardcore fans and trolls get banned after 2-3 posts and it was boring. having all these clowns and trolls in boxingscene is fun as well
