    Only in boxing, folks.
He didn't leapfrog him in rankings, it's a voluntary title defense, has nothing to do with rankings.

That's what I mean, by the rankings Vergil Ortiz is due the next shot at Dud Crawford's WBO belt. Avanesyan ducked Ortiz and then was gifted with a title shot first...so it has the same effect as leapfrogging Vergil at the end of the day.

Pretty disgusting when you think about it.

            Wrong.

"Ortiz was supposed to fight David Avanesyan on August 6th, but now that fight looks to be off and McKinson may be back in. Ortiz’s manager, Rick Mirigian, explained that David Avanesyan never sent the contract back after agreeing to terms. Saying “Golden Boy did everything they wanted, accommodated their every crazy need they asked for, and Vergil even kicked in some money to help make the fight. They agreed to the deal and then never would send the actual contract back.”

Crawford's an *******, the only fight there was to make at welterweight was Spence and he fumbled that.

                  Great fight.

The way things go in this mixed up, muddled up, shook up sport, Vergil might just get his Crawford date first.

Because certain promoters in the game were trying to push the narrative that Avanesyan was Russian and therefore not allowed into the US/ not allowed to fight.
