Against Cotto, when Mayweather blocks with his shoulder, elbow, and arm, Cotto will just keep hitting that whole arm and shoulder and Cotto will break it.
Against Manny, being southpaw Manny will be able to tag him quite a bit because he's just as quick and Manny will be relentless on pressuring PBF. Between these two, it's just a matter of conditioning and cardio. Manny fakes alot and that should somewhat throw off PBF, only because Manny is fast and quick enough.Last edited by rommel357; 09-22-2009, 02:06 PM.Comment

I've read some good answers on this tread, but the thing i agree with most is controlling distance, fighters like the Punisher & Margarito who apply loads of pressure & close distance well, pose the most problems for floyd!!Floyd has never fought at a pace they will set,say what u like about it,but the biggest thing is,they don't care if they land everything & will be throwing regardless!!
Cotto & Mosley are more boxer-punchers,but if they can keep up on the jab & don't mind missing, they have their shots to break through, because they are heavy handed!!Pound on floyds left elbow & hip, that should soften him up!!
Call me crazy, but Clottey is a serious wild card, who can beat floyd, without a doubt in my mind!!Here's why,Clottey is very fast in his own right, plus he pressures by constanly getting into punching distance & using his body!!He can match floyds speed, apply pressure & not worry about being out worked!!Comment

floyd has grown and has gotten smarter with age..so its amazing people bring up castillo(a fight he was injured in and won anyway)from 8 years ago...his defense is damn near air tight now...no 1 can land over 20 percent on this guyComment

Floyd is obviously beatable. No one is unbeatable.
You can look at the fighters who have tested him to his weaknesses. At this point at welterweight he does not throw combinations like he did in his days cleaning out 130 and 135, so he is more susceptible than ever to a pressure fighter that throws punches. That gave him hell at 135 when he was still able to brawl somewhat against Jose Luis Castillo, now that he can't brawl and rarely throws combinations a welterweight Castillo or something similar would really get to him. A guy like prime Margarito would really hurt Floyd, luckily for him nothing like that is at welterweight right now.
Zab Judah was clearly uncomfortable for Floyd, but Judah is not mentally strong or disciplined enough to finish the job and you have to be because of Floyd's ability to adjust to what his opponent does. If he doesn't have foot speed and hand speed advantage it bothers Floyd.
Floyd has also become too defensive and falls in love with covering up and making opponents miss. Against guys who throw fast and hard punches accurately like Mosley or Pac, he will have to change that or he will take punches. Also, Mosley or Cotto would see how he just goes into his shell against the ropes and have the size to put him there and keep him there.
Floyd has all the talent in the world, you don't get to 40-0 without talent but he needs to put that talent to use and against an opponent that forces the best out of him.Comment
