Usyk said that the training for the first AJ fight was hard and that after the fight he was more hurt that most people knew and needed time to recover. He went and fought AJ again and more than likely it is the same because he mentioned that he had to push himself in training to do the things he does in the ring.

Him saying that he needed time is not a duck because he had mentioned this already and never said that he would not fight Fury. AJ thought it was a short turn around for such a big fight and more than likely Usyk did also.
