Why was this fight scheduled 6 months out

I’m wondering the same thing, Charlo fought in May & Tszyu fought in March ... 8 & 10 months out of the ring respectively.

About the very long layoffs - my understanding was that PBC and or the promoters didn’t have the Television slot and or money to put it in by end of year. So picked date after college football playoffs and between super bowl to get more eyes on it. I could be off but I’ve seen that mentioned a few places about this fight. Simpler yet - it wasn’t in the budget is also what I heard.

I like that Tyszu still "doesn't know any better" -

I can totally see him trying to walk over to Charlo in the first round and immediately get put on his behind.

But I think he will get up, still not learn, and will continue trying to fight his fight.

One thing I like for Tyszu in this fight is that he will take the extra step to the inside that Castano could/would not. Charlo's had some adventures in that range.

Charlo took his game to a new level last fight, very much enjoyed that effort. Pretty excited to see how long he can hold this form

I'm rootin for u Tim, but I'll b surprised if u pull it off. Charlo has fought way better opposition and looked better doing it. I think u shoulda took at least 1 if not 2 step up fights first but I applaud u for going for it when so many others are ducking each other and just looking for easy paydays. Hopefully Charlo moves up to 160 soon and makes all the fights his bum brother is scared to make. Honestly lil Charlo could potentially b the first person to fully unify 2 separate divisions, unless usyk manages to pull it off first.

I saw Tim's last fight and he did rally to win the fight but he has to stop blocking punches with his face. I hope he practices head movement, blocking punches with his hands and really works on his defense. His face defense won't work against Charlo. Charlo is a boxer whereas Tim likes people to stand straight in front of him. I got Charlo by 8 rounds.
