What Is Wrong With Ranking Floyd High?

weather its P4P or WW? I still have Pac ranked #1 but I think people are overreacting when they say that he shouldnt be ranked ahead of certain guys. I understand where youre coming from but I think you guys are looking at it the wrong way. You guys are looking at it by saying that he shouldnt jump over everyone for beating JMM but I think the Ring and others are ranking him that high because of where he was before he retired. People act like he came from nowhere, or hasnt done anything, or has been retired for 6 years. He was ranked #1 P4P and #1 in the WW divison when he retired. Pretty much since he has retired, everyone has lost and he came back and looked as good as ever. People are really upset about the WW stuff but its not like he never did anything at WW. He did beat Zab & Baldy who were both rated as the top 2 guys when Floyd beat them. Thats why he has jumped so high in the rankings. Its not like every fight he had at WW was against JMM. He may not have fought the guys that you wanted him to fight but he did beat the legit champs at the time and hasnt lost since. I dont think its bad to rank him high until his next fight. If he fights someone unworthy in his next fight then you can drop his ranking after that but I think he deserves to be there.

Lets face it, most likely he will face either Pac, Cotto, Mosley, Clottey, or Berto in his next fight. He has to do that to get the money he wants. Any of those wins should keep him at the top if you ask me, e****ally if Mosley fights Berto next. I say that because a Pac or Cotto win would definatly be legit after they fight eachother and the only guy on the list that I mentioned that people may not like is Berto but if he beats Mosley then you cant discredit a Floyd win over him. I actually think it would be ok if Floyd fought Berto now but I know that Im in the minority.

as I have stated..all these P4P "rankings" are mythical and someone's opinion.

he's going to try to face the lightweight Pacquiao then retire. Given his weight indiscretions, it isn't guarunteed that Pac will even take the fight at a catchweight(nor should he), so in that case look for Floyd to fight Mosley, Clottey, or Berto. He won't go anywhere near Cotto barring a KO loss for Cotto via Pacquiao.

Well i agree with the P4P ranking but the welterweight ranking is bull****. Dude hasnt fought any of the top welters for the past few years and still rank really high.

I agree with this. Floyd and co. will trash Mosley some more in the coming days (all to mask the fact he will never fight him in any reasonable time frame), Mayweather WILL beat the winner of Cotto/Pac and then retire with all the loot in his money bin ala Scrooge McDuck. The whole boxing world will be played for suckers again, and the insiders and big wigs will wish they attempted to force a threatening fight on him before he left the sport for good.

Any of you who think Floyd's going to hang around and fool with Berto, Clottey, etc. are kidding yourselves. Jr.'s only in it for the $$$.

Mostly ****** banter from the thread starter.

To sum it up the threadstarter needs to be educated that fighting a 130 guy at WW then coming in overweight and ultimately ballooning to 160 on fightnight isn't really much to talk about.

Add the fact that he can't even take out his bloated opponent.

Your the one who needs to be educated if you think Floyd was 160 fight night..

I got a pic of them. Gayweather refused to be weighed. JMM is bloated at 148 and still he looks like a midget compared to Gayweather.

I also remembered gayweather fans dont have COMMON SENSE.

                  Going back on point.

Beating a guy 2 weight classes below you, coming in overweight, having an advantage of as much as 15 lbs on fightnight and STILL YOU CANT KO UR OPPONENT.

Isn't something to be proud of.

But gayweather stans.... like you... seem to be.

now him not KOing marquez was disappointing but the schooling he gave to him was. Marquez never figured floyd out and was clearly frustrated. Marquez only landing 15% of his punches was incredible for floyd part. Floyd using his jab something he barly uses in other fight to prevent marquez from going to the body and then when marquez actually go inside floyd block all of the punches. The only thing is that marquez was slower but also fought a very dumbass fight. Marquez had a completly wrong gameplan to fight floyd along with a dumbass trainer. **** what this fight showed me is that Marquez don't know how to fight a counter puncher. And you would think a counter puncher would know how to fight another counter puncher.
