Say what u may,but in his prime tito was one of the most feared, exciting,& electrifying fighters around. Only roy jones jr. out did him & was the only reason for not topping the P4P list, but he was around #2-#3 on the list for many years. his left hook to the head was out of this world.he had awsome uppers with either hand, good defense & devastating power with either hand. his footwork wasnt all that great but he more than made up with heart, determination, & power. a true hall of famer without a doubt,,lets just hope he stays retired this time. he never should have unretired, not even for mayorga. to me he was just a shell of the true trinidad we were use to see. many like to point out the hopkins defeat but to me he had nothing to be ashamed since he was a natural welterweight who after sweeping all the best at the ww chose to move up & challenge & beat vargas for his title(no catchweight like todays fighters),then challenged reid for his title which he won by KO, then moved up once more to middleweight(no catchweight) & challenged joppy for his title which he conquered with a devastating KO...before losing to a future hall of famer who hadnt lost in 5 years & had defended his title in double digits. trinidad could have chosen to play it safe like like money mayweather's been doing for years, or tried the catchweight thing like the so called great pacman. but instead did it like the true warrior he was,,,the right way, the way we the fans can respect even if ur not a tito fan. so he lost to hopkins after so many wars, & i mean wars, not like floyd where all he does is get on his bike & counterpounch. who cares if he lost after pushing himself to the limit so quickly,in his best days he gave us more excitement than most fighters today. i like to think that when he retired the first time, it was the right time 4 him to go out. infact, tito & de la hoya are the same age so both should have retired then. so to me pacman or money get no points for defeating de la hoya. de la hoya would have schooled both of them in his prime. tito thanks for the memories, & please stay retired u have nothing else to prove

Translation: Trinidad couldn't get the money he wanted for a big fight. His only option was to retire or work cheap.

Nobody cares. Well maybe his fans cause they thought he still had a chance against Hopkins at Light Heavyweight.

                    This is long overdue...

Tito has accomplished quite a bit. He was the first to give "The Golden Boy" his first loss. And he went on to do quite well for himself. After his first retirement he tried to come back and do something because boxers do love the lime light but at this stage in his life and career, he should be helping others who aren't as fortunate in their careers. With his limited style he was quite successful and he has a lot to offer in the form of wisdom and hopefully, funds. I hope he is smart enough to move onto other things. I also hope he is spending his money wisely because he sure made enough even under Don King. LOL....
I would like to say Thank you Tito. He was an entertaining fighter who was very serious in the ring and did go for the KO. I can clearly remember that fight against Mayorga and Mayorga was into allowing his opponent to hit him with no retaliation to prove his bravado. Tito definitely took advantage of that. that was a great fight.
Much success to you Tito. And thank you again.
