Ok, so hold on, you’re ‘left leaning’, but you’re finding it difficult to maintain your principles with women entering the spotlight?

edit: not actually slating any political stance you have, more interested in how the increased visibility of certain social groups can impact it.

Yeah that’s how I read it, initially, but I’m told I missed the point on that one

Unlike AJ she was unstoppable as an amateur whereas AJ got multiple questionable decisions which led him to gold in London. Taylor was multiple time world amateur champion even claressa has stated her admiration for Taylor considering she brought women's boxing to the mainstream
Nobody other than hardcore boxing fans remember what AJ did in the amateurs, or questionable decisions to get his gold. The talent pool in womens boxing is a puddle, therefore Katie Taylor steamrolled through all of her opponents because she's actually a good boxer. Comparing womens and mens boxing and how difficult it is to dominate is not fair, at all.

I think it's more blatantly lying in order to put that group in the spotlight when anyone with half a brain knows the headline is complete and utter nonsense. I called myself left, until they started changing the definition of gender and expecting people with penises to be referred to as women. Jenner winning "woman of the year" was the cherry on top.

No problem with them in the spotlight at all, but to pretend they are more marketable than the popular men in the sport is just nonsense and seems more a play on the current social climate than an accurate analysis.

Totally agree with the first sentence. That is what I am trying to say. Our reasoning on the rest may be a bit different lol, but similar things have driven me crazy. Getting shamed in public for using a term that became unsavory 8 minutes ago on social media would be one of my examples. Judging historical figures based on today's exact standards would be another. Saying women's boxing is more marketable than mens would be this specific example.

Ok I see what you’re saying, but if I’m not very much mistaken, aren’t the methodologies for arriving at this conclusion this year, the same as those employed last year when nobody round here found any disagreement with the so-called marketability list?

My point ( and really I feel a bit bad for singling uou out when I could say this to anyone here), is why was this subject last year, and indeed the whole list not including a female boxer, treated with scientific infallibility, where now it’s not?

Hold on, you think this analysis is a total lie…. Why? To what end, exactly? Was it a lie last year when Taylor wasn’t mentioned?

Also, you totally threw out your principles when a marginalised demographic got a bit of respect?

No worries my man, the art of not getting offended is sadly lost and I dont mind this at all. I think her being on the list this year and not last kind of makes sense to me. She just had a huge event and I dont think its nuts that she is on the list due to the numbers and attention that event drew.

What seems off to me is the placement on said list. Maybe next year she will be rightfully ahead on the list after a few big ppv fights...that wouldn't bother me in the slightest. But one big event that's not ppv and she is more marketable than canelo currently...I call bull on that.
