Comments Thread For: De La Hoya On Ryan Garcia vs. Gervonta Davis: 'Fights Like This Take Forever'

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. Oscar De La Hoya was present promoting Gilberto Ramirez's upcoming fight against Dmitry Bivol at the Brickhouse Boxing Club on Tuesday, and although the light heavyweight tilt is one of the more intriguing bouts of the year, The Golden Boy was also fielding questions about one of the handful of super fights the sport has to offer.

The press conferences would be pure cringe. Neither one is known for their verbal skills. However don't get the hype, both are cherry pickers and far from the best in the division, especially since Stevenson has moved up. Neither has a meaningful belt to their name. Unless of course you view the fake WBA belts Porky has held.

These fights either take forever or fall through, like Joshua after so many huddles he didn't like the commerical side and they didn't like the fact he was the 'B side' even though he would have had a career highest payday. As for Davis he needs to put his phone down and fight someone.Bud and Spence ....these are spoilt kids who think they can fight Joe average for millions and when someone's put in front of them with a chance of beating them as Oscar says 'takes forever' these over rated wankers and their hangers on are ruining the sport.

Will never get done if you keep saying it's a big fight (it's not). Both would now want huge amounts of money for their paychecks thinking it's really a huge fight.

I have no doubt both want to fight each other, and the boxing world would applaud it, it would attract the casuals across more than one American demographic. I am positive, however, the holdout is due to hashing out network issues

The sport needs Tank vs. KingRy, Spence vs. Crawford, and Fury vs. Usyk! To all six of them...MAN UP!

I think it's going to happen! I think PBC will air it in the U.S., and DAZN will air it everywhere else!

Correct me if I’m wrong mate but doesn’t pbc have a deal with dazn internationally already in place? I remember reading back circa 2018-19 or so that was the case though things change. I think that’s quite reasonable though. And to be honest it’s a great thing if it does happen if pbc and golden boy can get together and make fights on showtime, fox, and dazn. Set a precedent so that no more Charlo-Munguia’s happen

If ever does get made, if it's at 135 lbs, favours Tank.

If 140lbs and higher, Ryan would have a slight advantage I'd surmise.

But yeah, it's a hell of a mission to get a big fight made in boxing nowadays. If lucky, might get two or three a year, but that's rare.

If it happens, it will be one of the biggest, non-title fights, in the history of the sport!
