    foney mayrunner

i'm a big marquez fan, and i had high hopes and best wishes.. but even my people here were getting upset when i started seeing the obvious about rnd 2.. ha.. i've said it before marquez' shot was not a realistic one, but there was a shot.. i as far as him loosing, he's still a top fighter, he did what he could with what he had.. and lasted all 12..

there are two things i quite dont understand, this dude is self proclaimed (and has idiot writers, and fans that agree) as the best.. yet he's yet to beat a fighter in where he does not hold an obvious and maybe two advantages.. can't say hatton cause his only other fight at welter was a loss to collazo.. and you can say jose luis, but he was robbed.. corrales (RIP), i knew he was too slow, like way too slow, and clumsy.. other than that, his list includes, where's baldo? 5 rnd judah, ODLH who was obviously not the same as in his prime.. where's a names on his belt like true welters, or even decent ones.. a name like mosley, cintron, margarito, clottey, berto, williams.. someone who has a legitimate shot to beating this cherry picking f..ck..

Another thing, if this guys is demanding such high purses, and is so called mr. HBO, and p4p.. i cant remember last time if any where there was a pro mayrunner crowd? i mean doesnt he say he sells the tickets.. i (we) all saw him getting stuff thrown at him after the marquez fight.. booed, and "**** you mayweather, **** you" no cheering? but he's the best?

      Not according to The Ring.

In fact they don't even rate him #1 at Welterweight!

The question was how much was Marquez a threat to beat Floyd. It was obvious from the beggining to the weigh in. Floyd is rated on a performance that he had every advantage from height, speed, power, skill level and including age. Beating the #2 rated in the world in these circumstances doesn't make you #1, how about if it was Calderon, it makes no sense to me.

Yes he looked good but the opposition wasn't no legit threat other than he had almost a 2 year layoff. P4P is rated on the opponents faced that you have a legit chance to loose not on how good you look winning against hand picked opponents. Even when he could had KOed Marquez he held back, I guess not taking any chances or to not to hurt his brittle hands.

Floyd has never proven himself in the WW division against a Prime WW. Judah(proven loser) and Baldomir(no power what so ever) is not enough. DLH fight was a boring split decision. At least other fighters even on a losing effort take chances in their respective divisions, don't see why an undefeated record is so important if you are not fighting the best fighters in your division

Read verrry slowly and try to follow the bouncing ball.

          1) Judah --a guy who has never won when it really mattered. Lost his fight to Baldomir and still got a shot. Really a stretch but I'll give you this one.

          2) Hatton a Jr. Welter who moved up to welter prior to Mayweather and was almost knocked out by fringe contender Collazo.

3)De La Hoya although a great fighter, this fight had taken place at 154, not at 147. De La Hoya fought once a year and was mostly a promoter at that stage of his career.

You named one guy (an also ran) whom Mayweather faced by the name of Judah, who else has he faced at welterweight? See it's a very easy question, just give us some names? Asking questions is not the same as hating, so please spare us the "hater" labels and answer the question.

I guess to be a champion in the WW division it's not proving yourself against a top WW...it wasn´t interim championship fight...was a true champion he beat, you may discredit them now but they were the best of the world at that particualr time...

who are you to discredit them??!

WOW this was the most fair and accurate assessment I've seen in a while on this site I'm glad there is at least one writer at boxingscene who is a fan of the Sport and not a Fighter. Great work

Its my opinion, you don't have to agree with it. I just find that is just a waste having all that talent and never to push yourself to really test it to the maximum if any fighter could. Who did he beat for the WW title? And what other fighters were holding belts at that time? Because a match with a certain fighter brings more money to the table doesn't mean you are fighting the best

Fitzsimmons you imbecile. Are you ****ing kidding me? Mayweather 5'8 146 pounds and Marquez 5'6 142 lbs not a big difference? If you knew anything about boxing you would know that first of all Marquez has never fought in this weight class before and yes ****head it was alot of weight to pack on especially at age 36. Secondly Mayweather weighed in 2 lbs over the weight limit and no one said ****.

Still digging for an argument. Like I said its not as black and white as you make it out to be. He fought Judah at WW, he FOUGHT Hatton at WW. Who cares if he was moving up? he was the Lineal JWW champion and moved up 1 weight class, it was a legit fight. Look at youre post you are cherry picking apart my answers. I answered the question, you didnt like the answers. Thats fine but dont say i didnt answer the question.

It is hating because you go on to discredit the fighters(Judah and Hatton) after I answer it.

I already stated I want to see him fight Mosley, Cotto and Pac. You are arguing for the sake of arguing and you still havent answered my question.
