What ever happened to Daigo Higa?

Dude was on a tear and had a 100% KO percentage and ended up getting KTFO, then lost to a guy with 4 wins.....anyone who is in the know with the japanese boxing scene knows if he retired?

Possible that the Rosales loss somewhat broke him, hasn’t looked the same fighter since. I don’t think his power has carried up to 118 either. The 3-0 guy he lost to, Nishida, is a decent fighter who’s being fast tracked so that loss might not be as bad as it looks on paper. Hard to see Higa ever getting back into title contention though.

Thanks for that. I noticed that the Japanese Boxing Commision, and Trainers/Gyms in that country tend to not allow their fighters to stay past their prime. I mean Yoko Gushiken retired after his first L in the 80s.

Nothing going on with Daigo Higa anymore. In a sense he's been shelved. Everything used to be chaotic out here in Oki when he scheduled to fight, but after his loses, NADA. There's some other Okinawan boxers being brought up out here though. Some good talent out here.

Nah, I'm on an LCS class ship out of Mayport. Was on a destroyer in Norfolk. Haven't had the chance to get out to Yoko/Oki/Sasebo

At your PRD you should try and get out to Japan. It's great out here, the people and the food. Plenty of ships in Sase/Yoko if you want to go back to back sea duty.
