Crazy seeing the way some people have flipped on Usyk. Remember when he first announced he was moving up to HW almost everyone said it was a bad idea. Then his 1st 2 HW performances against Witherspoon & Chisora were less than stellar & people really started to write him off (as a HW). Then the AJ fight was announced. “Usyks too small” “He’s gonna get knocked out” He goes on to dominate AJ twice.

Now fast forward to today it’s “Usyks ducking”. Really??? This man is clearly not a natural HW. His skill & will to win allowed him to compete as a HW & become a world champion against a man naturally bigger & stronger. How does it go from “he’s too small” to “he’s ducking xyz” ? Goes to show how fickle boxing fans are. It’s never enough, never satisfied.

If Usyk plans to continue at HW, do I think he should fight Fury/Joyce/Wilder etc.?, absolutely. But if he says “ I achieved what they said I couldn’t, I’m going back to MY weight class” I’m not gonna fault him.

Better than getting embarrassed by Fury...but nobody every survives a move back down

So far it was Fury who didn't jump at the opportunity to fight for the undisputed in winter or early spring 2023. Apparently, taking belts off Usyk would have been so easy, right? So I'm not sure it's Usyk who's avoiding anyone here.

I wish boxing fans applied to themselves half of the expectations they apply to boxers. But with an average IQ here being equal to an average age I'd say it's a hard ask.

Ask RJJ going down in weight is a recipe for disaster why risk ruining his CW legacy???????

Roy was on the decline and Tarver had his number. That was just an excuse from Roy. I think he lost Tarver I but Tarver II he had a whole year after the Ruiz fight to adjust and he was only 193 for Ruiz which he claims the scale was 10 pounds off which seems like BS because its a calibrated scale and EVERYONE's weight on the card that night would have been off.

Don't do it Usyk, usually this backfires. When you go up in weight and put muscle mass on, it affects your body when you try to cut it. Especially at an older age, you might get away with it in your 20s but not your 30s. I had also said that Canelo was making a mistake going up and coming down again, I think we saw the affects of it in this last his last fight as those up and downs at a later age are having affects.

He could fight Rivas for his Bridgerweight title. Not technically a move down.

This isn’t the amateurs bud there’s no head gear and Joyce has gotten a lot better. If you saw the chisora fight you’d know why usyk is ducking fury and Joyce. AJ wasn’t a dog. He wasn’t willing to walk through fire. Fury and Joyce will eat his punches gladly to give their own and usyk don’t like that. I could see him winning a decision vs joe but that’s a tall task. I just don’t think he can beat those 2. Maybe a couple others as well

Nah, he’s a natural cruiser. As he detailed in the article, it’s harder for him to put on and maintain the extra weight than to make the 200 lb limit. I’m sure he’ll still do it for the right money, but if he’s going to wait on Fury, he’d rather take a cruiser fight. Easy work!
