    Credit to the BBBofC.

I often criticise Robert Smith and his “jobs for the boys” approach but they certainly deserve some credit here.

Despite their backtracking, Hearn and Kalle put a tremendous amount of pressure on the board to sweep Benn’s FAILED drug test under the rug. They tried to both legally and financially bully the BBBofC into sanctioning this fight. Both should have their promoters licenses suspended IMO. I think Carl Frampton sums it up perfectly:

I really hope the board continue this strong-hand approach cause this really isn’t acceptable and needs addressing for the sake of the sport in this country. The promoter’s desperation for financial gain completely superseded the safety of the fighters and not for the first time. We all remember the Whyte-Rivas situation were Rivas wasn’t made aware of Whyte’s failed test until after the fight had taken place. Had the Daily Mail not broke the story would Eubank Jr had been put in the same position? Questions need to be asked and a thorough investigation is needed. Let’s hope the board don’t cave under the pressure and we get some justice.

why do people resent athletes taking drugs so they can be better at their job?

do athletes resent people for going to their doctors and get prescribed things like HGH so they can feel better and better at their jobs?

and who gets to decide which drugs are legal and which drugs are illegal and what medical basis do they have to designate which peds are allowed and not allowed?

Because they’re illegal/banned substances and give you an unfair advantage, and an unfair advantage in boxing can be potentially fatal.

      Get a grip.

        lol.

you do know athletes are allowed to take peds that are deemed legal right? you do know that right?

do you have a single shred of evidence that a boxer has died because their opponents took peds?

the fact that peds (some) are deemed illegal is what makes it a unfair advantage. you do know that right? only the people willing to risk it all will get the benefit and those that follow the rules are screwed over. that's the unfair advantage.

        you do know that right?

you want an even playing field? legalize peds. that way there's no punishment for anyone. the fact that certain peds are deemed illegal is what is creating an uneven playing field.

you need to get off your sanctimonious high horse, GET A GRIP, and fully digest what i just told you.

correct. that is addressed in my first post.

who gets to decide what peds are deemed legal and illegal and what medical justification do they have to make those designations?

what does my join date have to do with what we are talking about?

you brought this up. stick to the topic at hand and dont get personal.

The topic I brought up is the board acting accordingly in prohibiting this fight from happening.

You replied with utter nonsense, essentially justifying fighters doping.

To be fair, the board of control have known about it for about a month and didn’t do anything because they don’t have to because they’re not affiliated with VADA

They would’ve happily gone ahead with the fight if it wasn’t exposed and had a public backlash.

Yeah they made the right decision two days out from the fight because of the backlash, but they were ok letting it go ahead for so long until they were basically backed into a corner. At the end of the day if this was exposed and the board went ahead with it and something bad happened, they would be first in line for the blame for sanctioning it. so they really had no choice in the end. But they fully intended to keep it quiet and go ahead with that , make no mistake about that, That’s why they could’ve called it weeks ago but didn’t.

It’s only took some whistleblower to tell the Daily Mail, probably Eubank Sr’s doing

do you know what dope means?

your topic is in the end about ped use.

                  i responded accordingly.

you respond back with alts or whatever.

let's just start with basic facts,

do you believe athletes are allowed to take peds that are deemed legal by their governing bodies? yes or no?

No this thread was about crediting the BBBofC on how they handled the Eubank-Benn mess. Work on your comprehension.
