“Go have your fight we’ll do our thing and we’ll see what happens” lmao. He never wanted the fight. They will try to make it when he’s ready to cash out on AJ by then the ship will have sailed
"In our mind, he's not fighting Anthony Joshua. We're more than happy to continue those conversations but what we've been told is the deadline is passed and so have the entire country. We have sent the final version of the contract back, they've come back with points and we were told that the fight is off by the man himself.
Exhibit A: Using Fury's words, which by his own admission are unreliable, to disguise the fact that negotiations were still ongoing with George Warren and the lawyers.
"They gave us terms ultimately and a date they thought we wouldn't accept. We did accept that. We were ready to go. If they were to sign the contract on Monday, they had a fight. We were asked to agree the deal by Monday, then we were asked to agree it by Wednesday. We got the comments back on Wednesday. We were never going to sign the fight [then], and we were told the fight's off. It's still there. It's still open for discussion. But we're not going to play a game with a bloke that's just coming out telling AJ it's off, and then he's a dosser, he's got to sign it, etc. Have your fight if you fight someone else, and we'll do our thing and we'll see what happens."
Exhibit B: Hearn neglects to acknowledge whether his side bothered to respond to the comments they received back and given that he admitted he would prefer to go on a 5 mile run than pick up the phone to speak with George Warren, I think we can safely assume, no.
I wonder how the matchroom shills on here will try and spin this? The only significant truth here is that they never intended to sign for the fight—straight from the horse's mouth.
That is without any doubt, sure there's things to sort but he was never keen BUT 258 which Joshua owns call the shots , so it seems this is damage control trying to blame Fury ...very weak attempt , because he called Joshua a 'dosser' ..he called Wilder that all the time and they had 3 fights.
This is Eddie’s game. Had a non journalism UK sports press fawning over Joshua and Matchroom. This is little brother syndrome- openly rooting for British fighters instead of objective sportswriting. And in the other corner you have a wacky Irish traveller from a family with a long record of brushes with the law. Was very easy for them to play heroes and villains. But it’s over. We now know everything. Hearn absolutely used a ********** pay for play UK sports press to spin that wilder ducked Joshua. He had press cry and whine like old women when PED punching bag whyte couldn’t get a title fight - even tho Hearn promoted one of the champions!!!! Oh and the same fake journalists had nothing to say about Whyte dirty pee vs Rivas. And now his meal ticket has been exposed as a malfunctioning robot in dramatic athletic and mental decline. And one loss away from the fertilizer factory. And absolutely terrified of the heavyweight champion. Exposed as the #4 HW of his era, this generation’s John Ruiz
