Leonard vs Hagler @ 160 : After Leonard's 2-year lay off plus he was coming up two weight divisions from where his last fight took place in(WW).
Byrd vs V. Klitschko: Chris Byrd is arguably the smallest HW from the 2000's(correct me if i'm wrong). While Vitali is arguably the best HW from the 2000s. Chris Byrd was the underdog in this fight and over-matched in the size department in every single way.
Tarver vs Hopkins: Hopkins coming up two weight divisions to fight the #1 LHW of the world. Hopkins was the heavy underdog in this fight.
Jones vs Ruiz: Jones coming up 2 weight divisions to fight WBA champion John Ruiz in an intriguing fight no matter how over-matched Ruiz was because boxing fans wanted to see how Jones will take a HW punch.
Pacquiao vs De La Hoya: Pacquiao coming up two weight divisions, De La Hoya coming down one weight division. Pacquiao was the underdog for this fight.
Mayweather vs Corrales: Mayweather 5'7", fighting the much taller 5'11" undefeated Corrales, who came in unofficially as a Welterweight in a scheduled 130 pound Super Featherweight fight. Mayweather was the underdog in this fight.
Quintana vs Williams I: Williams had all the physical advantages in this fight. Unofficial weight(160), height, reach, Williams was also the bigger man on fight night. Quintana was the underdog in this fight.
Do these fights make you believe that:
Size, Height and weight advantages don't matter as long as you have the skills?
Or does Size, Height[/B] and weight advantages matters when you're opponent never had the skills to beat you to begin with, regardless of what weight class it took place in?
Curious to see what the NSB Boxing fans thoughts on this is. You all know who you are.
