If Tank sticks to his guns and makes Garcia come down to 135, he should beat him. Fight him at 140 though, and it'll be a tough night for the little guy.

Luke Campbell is no where near Tank in boxing skills. He doesn't have Tank's footwork, arsenal of counters, ring IQ, and definitely not his athleticism. Tank has been able to get in and out of range his whole career, and he's had to solve the "get on the inside " problem in every fight. He seems to be doing a great job of it with 25 KOs in 27 fights. Also, if you think Campbell is a better boxer than Tank, then he must be miles ahead of Garcia boxing-wise, but look how that turned out.
Tank isn't Luke Campbell. Luke is the better boxer of the 2,is about 6 inches taller and nearly the same in reach advantage over Tank. Tank will have a lot more difficulty getting in range to land a similar shot. He's more explosive than Luke sure but is willing to put himself in harms way to attempt it? He really didn't seem to keen on doing so against Barrios or Rolly. So to say "if so and so can land so can x fighter" doesn't make it so. Not even worth entertaining your "he ain't got rolly power" comment lol.....Comment

I don't know how anyone knows if Garcia has the power to stop Tank because I've never seen Davis hurt at all, not even a leg buckle. What we have seen is Ryan with his face on the mat and his arm folded under him like laundry.

If Tank is all those things, why has he gone life or death in 2 of his last three fights and lost the third, all against cherry picked opponents?
Way too much with what? Ryan has some speed and a nice left hook, but he's so technically limited as a boxer when compared to Tank. Ryan is flat-footed, he doesn't set up his shots well, mostly left hook, body shot, and repeat. His defense is horrible, he pulls straight back with his chin in the air, his chin is suspect, as Campbell dropped him and is not known for power, and his head movement is almost nonexistent. Tank is a true, complete boxer-puncher with elite athleticism. His power, which is ridiculous, tends to overshadow the fact that he is very skilled and has been boxing since he was 7. His has good movement and quick footwork, he attacks using angles, he sets traps for explosive counters, he's dangerous on the front or back foot, closes the distance well, and has a high ring IQ. Ryan's height won't be an issue because all of Tank's opponents were taller than him, besides Pitbull, and 25 out of 27 of them took a long nap.Comment

It's not called going life or death when you knock your opponent out in the 6th round. Also, he clearly beat, an aggressive and dangerous fighter in Pitbull, with one hand for the majority of the fight. I would call that impressive, especially seeing what Cruz has done since. Hell, I would call it a favor; he's put Isaac Cruz name on the radar of the division as a real contender. Another thing, how was it a cherry pick when Cruz was a replacement for his original opponent due to injury? Cruz was already training for his own fight on the undercard and stepped up as a replacement for the opportunity and spotlight. It worked out well for both. Tank showed his skill by fighting off the back foot with one hand because of his injury, and still was able to out point a nonstop action fighter. While Pitbull was able to put his name out there as a real threat by putting up a good fight.Comment

Great to know that Arturo Gatti didn't go life or death with almost every fighter he KOd on HBO. Great to know Chico Corrales didn't go life or death with Floyd Mayweather's first conquerer Jose Luis Castillo. Great to know Marvin Hagler didn't go life or death with Hitman Hearns.

Pitbull Cruz 115-113 Tank Davis. That's being generous to Tank.Comment

Outstanding!
But he isn't really giving an honest take. There's guys who have sparred Haney and Davis and will say Davis is a problem. That one guy at 140, I forget his name (southpaw black dude who gave an interview to Ellie pre-tank-rolly) but even he speaks volumes to Tank's power. But these guys are really acting like Davis is light work.
The only thing Ryan has on Tank is the reach-height factor. It'll make Tank have to leap in. But all we really have to do is go watch Tank vs Barrios to see how he handles height and reach. Barrios being 5'10" and Ryan being 5'10". Barrios having a 71" reach and Ryan having a 70" reach. Ryan might have the hand speed but still looks for primarily the left hook and he still has the same weaknesses and holes in his game (i.e. chin up, back away in a straight line with hands down when evading punches).
So, it's not as easy as Haney alludes to. He has his opinion but I think his opinion comes with a little bias. That's why I'm kind of tired of hearing his opinion if it's always going to come from a place of dishonesty.
Someone like Spence for example, doesn't act like Crawford or Garcia etc are light work. He gives an honest opinion, acknowledges their strengths but is confident in himself. Gives it straight. I don't like when Haney or these guys give it half-truths for whatever the reasons have.
Haney knows Tank is a problem. We all know Tank is a problem and is the biggest risk for any of these guys at 135 simply because he can turn a fight upside down with 1 punch.Comment

funny thing is, you'll have a division like 147 where pretty much all the top rated boxers (at one point) all fought each other.
Danny G, Thurman, Porter, Ugas... then Spence rises up the rankings and fights 3/4.
But then some boxing fans say things like "it was a weak division" just because Spence wound up on top in the end.
Boxing is a garbage sport mostly because of the fans. If fans didn't have such a negative response to when fighters lose, like my above sentence. I'm sure these guys would fight each other more often.
We wouldn't have guys like 135 where nobody wants to fight each other. Hell, Teofimo didn't even want to keep fighting in the division after he lost.Comment
