whats the point of floyd vs. manny?

I want to see the fight happen because it would be a BIG fight and BIG fights are always exciting events. but unless manny wins, theres no surprise. its not going to do aything for floyd in the eyes of most boxing fans. they will say manny was too small, too old and too one dimensional. i'd give floyd credit, but thats me...

Hey man, EVERYONE knew Marvin Hagler was going to destroy Sugar Ray Leonard. Didn't stop it from being the biggest fight of the decade. And oh yeah, it didn't stop Leonard from winning!!!

I'm starting to think a Floyd win over Pacquiao wouldn't hold much weight with people. All anyone would mention is that he started off at 106 pounds and was just too small for Floyd (especially since Floyd won't fight below 147 again). From what I've seen this past weekend, Manny's aggression and balance issues would probably leave him KO'd Hatton style.

Even Cotto would be dismissed as an opponent. They would say he was too slow, and that he was damaged goods from a plaster beatdown from Margarito. The only fighter out there that would satisfy everyone is "Sugar" Shane Mosley. People could still knock him for his age, but the fact that he's bigger, stronger, and nearly as fast as Floyd would likely kill that argument.
