He is fighting today on Telefutura.Anyone remember this guy? Fought Ike Q. to a draw knocking him down twice almost had him in the 12th. Beat the living crap out of my boy Yori Boy. Also ko Sammy Fuentes in 2.His four loses r by points. Does anyone else think he is an under rated fighter with very under rated power?

        I remember.....

I was in attendance at Lopez' fight before he fought Quartey, it was at Arco Arena (SacTown baby!) vs. Aaron Superman Davis. Lopez has an awesome crowd-pleasing style, similar to Ricky Hatton with his lead right-left body hook combos. Lopez just couldn't stay away from the Gonja, Dr. Sticky, Mary Jane, whatever u wanna call it, the Chronic was his downfall, if he has finally put the pipe down then he can become a legit contender again, his war with James Page was an underground classic and I think he can reclaim his glory with some hard work in the gym (he had the WBO welterweight title for about a year I think)

Ya I forgot to mention he is a bit of a pot head. Do u think he can climb the middle weight rankings to the top?

It's all about staying in shape and getting the right opportunity....I don't think he could ever compete with Hopkins, Taylor, etc, but he'd be a tough challenge for anybody from 154-168

Jose Luis Lopez was a ****ing joke. He had all the talent in the world an iron chin and could flat out crack he was just the single laziest fighter I have ever seen in my life.

His time has come and gone he cant be taken serious at this point.

The man had a reluctance to let his hands go. In the fight against Ike he could have done what he did in the 11th in the 4th. Ike simply couldnt take his punch.

I wish him the best but realistically speaking he became a drug addict, and as Jose said was lazy and we all know his chances of making a competitive come back are slim to none.
