Eddie Hearn, promoter for two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, believes Oleksandr Usyk will defeat Deontay Wilder in impressive fashion - if that fight comes together.

A while ago, I decided to rarely comment on this forum because I became increasingly irritated by the growing fanaticism towards boxers and promoters; the latter being unbelievable. However, I never stopped reading comments; you just never know when an insightful one would spring up.
After going through lots of comments here, you would be forgiven to think Wilder would jump at the slightest chance to fight Usyk. As his fans would say, he has the equalizer, remember?
Some have claimed he would surely connect in a 12 round fight and that WHENEVER he does, it's either lights-out, a KD or the opponent gets really hurt (all three are fat lies). Such commenters only spurt out what they hope for and not what the evidence suggest.
He has fought many limited fighters, mind you, but let's not go into that.
He landed CLEAN against a limited fighter in Artur Szpilka in earlier rounds prior to the KO; two instances I clearly remember, one of which Spilka even mockingly smiled and shrugged. Some persons forget that, ignore it, or maybe missed it perhaps because it doesn't support the narrative.
Against Duhaupas, the clean/landed punches were countless yet the French man didn't go down once nor appear really hurt, and was only stopped on his feet in the 11th.
Those guys were never world-beaters prior nor after.
I can go on and on, but there is no point. Some persons think that if they continue to push a certain narrative, it makes it true. People get easily manipulated but not me. I think for myself.
It's been about a week since the Ukrainian made public his intentions and even promised to be ringside for Wilder's upcoming fight. But all we've got from Wilder has been 'crickets'. Many fighters, let alone a confident one, would jump at the opportunity to fight for 3 belts and a bag full of money, but perhaps not Wilder. And there is a reason for that. Unlike his fan boys, he and his management know about all the fat lies, propaganda, and exaggerated abilities, all rolled into one. Of course, Wilder/Ruiz wouldn't generate more money than one with Usyk; not even close.
Maybe we should first wait for the Helenius fight to be over before we expect any buzz for the next. Maybe. It certainly hasn't stopped him from talking about other fighters though.
In fact, I would be shocked if the Usyk fight happens. I really want it, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
I have my opinion though on how I believe such a match up plays out, but I will leave that for another day... or another year.
He's still a big puncher and Usyk always gets hit a good amount of times.Comment

I'm not saying Wilder has a great chin. I'm just saying someone with more power than Usyk was giving Wilder a serious beating even after he was out on his feet. To say someone like Usyk who has even less power can suddenly KO Wilder doesn't make sense.
Even after two beatings he isn't going to suddenly develop a glass jaw that even Usyk can break.Comment

Wilder beating Helenius will likely tell us little about how a Wilder vs Usyk match plays out. Helenius is slow, immobile, old, has a very low work rate, with mediocre stamina. He’s been KO’d a few times also. If Wilder can’t stop Helenius fairly easily, he might want to consider retirement.Comment

Its a high risk fight for Usyk though. He could face Fury and have a chance of being unified lineal champion. For more money too because Fury has more fans. Or face wilder and be winning 10 rounds in a row only to get sparked out and lose his belt.
Usky has a good enough chance sure, best way to beat a massive puncher is to not get hit... Usyk probably has a better chance than AJ in a way, his defense is better and he fights better under pressure.
His management shouldnt take the fight they should go after Fury first.Comment
