Everyone stop your bitching about Floyd fighting JMM

I have always been more of a hater towards Floyd but I am defending him on this one now. THis was Floyds 1st fight back from a 21 month layoff, you think he was gonna step right in with Mosley or Cotto? Hell no, anyone coming off a layoff takes a tune up and him fighting Marquez is a hell of alot better than him fighting some no name welterweight for his tune up. ALso everyone who picked Marquez to win is now crying saying FLoyd was so much bigger, well that didnt seem to matter before the fight when you said floyd would lose but now it does? WTF everyone talking about FLoyd fighting Pac and Pac would destroy him, did you ******s forget that Pac has been in all the same weight classes as JMM and he started at a lower weight! Why is it not ok for him to fight Marquez but he HAS to fight Pac?

And the weight issue, the reason Floyd is a great fighter because he trains like no one else, he walks around when hes not training for a fight at no more than 160 so there is no way he was more than 56 for the fight.I bet he was within 5-8 pounds against Marquez 148 on fight night. Speaking of which Pac has weighed in at 148 his past 2 fights so he would weight the same against FLoyd so then all the dumb asses that said Pac would upset floyd could then ***** about Pac being too small. LIke I said before I have definetly hated on FLoyd before but after his incredible performance how can you losers find even more ****** excuses to take away his credit for the win? This **** is getting way overboard. Floyd just did eveything right in the fight, end of story he won fair and sqaure, stop your crying.

PBF did what he had to do. But asking JMM to perform on the night is like asking a marathon runner to run a PB time, carry an extra 7lbs.
I gurantee it makes a difference. Same story with JMM. He might have felt good before the fight. But its when you go in the trenches that you find your energy isnt what it should be.

He did what he always does: run, slap, jab and run until his opponents gets tired or sloppy and then he pounces. It's a good strategy if you're a wuss. A real fighter fights, he doesn't run.

PAC HAS FOUGHT AT 147 AND 140. HE KEPT ALL HIS SPEED, POWER, AND REFLEXES. MARQUEZ HAD NEVER FOUGHT ABOVE 135, AND AGAINST MAYWEATHER WEIGHING IN AT 142 HAD NO SPEED, NO POWER, AND NO REFLEXES.

Is it really that hard to understand? There are no excuses if Floyd and Pac fight and Floyd beats him. It will be because of skill, not because Pac wasn't that good at 147 like Marquez.

As far as Floyd getting a tune up in his first fight back, that's not the problem. It would have been a mistake for him to just jump in the ring with Mosley or Cotto or someone like that right away. Why didn't he fight some top 10 ranked welterweight that he could have beat just as easily as he did Marquez? No one bought into the crap Mayweather was spewing about this being a legit fight between two of the best P4P fighters because all sane fans knew Marquez was out of his league. He would have gotten much more credit and just as easy a tune up fighting a welterweight contender.

Because Marquez is a big name, the #2 P4P guy, and a guy Pac struggled with. All of this makes Marquez a much bigger fight than some unknown WW, and bigger fight means more money, which Floyd loves. It doesn't matter than he kept saying it was a legit fight, we all knew it was tune-up. If he had fought some undefeated punk kid at WW, everyone would say that Marquez would've been a better fight, even at a higher weight. Some people even picked Marquez to win just because of his name! Do you think ANYONE would pick an unknown over Floyd?

Anyone thinking Marquez would be a better fight than a guy like Collazo, for example, is out of their mind. No one thought Marquez would win except hardcore Marquez fans, and I doubt they actually thought he could win.

Thank you for writing this. People act like floyd is the only fighter in history to challenge smaller fighters. no matter what he does he will never get credit. i bet if he fights pac man or cotto and beats them badly people will still try to downplay it. people need to respect the man for the skill that he brings in the ring.
