Canelo hasn’t improved over the yrs as much as people think, he just looks great against average opposition. The bigger issue is Canelo’s poor stamina. Once ggg decided to throw caution to the wind, canelo gassed in the championship rounds. And that’s why someone like Benavidez has been avoided. He won’t let canelo fight at his pace like those Uk guys and plant did.
GGG looked bad he put up no competition to Canelo, Plant and Saunders gave Canelo some complications.

Saunders have Canelo zero complications before quitting on his stool.

        GGG's strategy was:

Fight on survival mode for 8 rounds, save up your stamina while forcing Canelo to become the aggresor and waste his energy

then go for the kill in the later rounds against a tired as hell ginger, who was the only one trying to fight at that point

That was GGG's plan, but it didn't work out

or... maybe he just came to collect his check, like Chavez Jr did

ggg looked bad but was more successful and caused Canelo more problems in the last 4 rounds than those 2 did combined. Canelo was never unfortunate vs plant or Saunders. He was visibly uncomfortable vs ggg in the championship rounds. And ggg is 40 and those guys have a decade plus age advantage on him.

A walk in the park for canelo, too bad ggg was on survival mode the whole fight, i guess the ko talk by canelo affected him a lot thats why he wouldnt let his hands go like the murata fight,, or canelo is just too strong for ggg at 168
              Brettcappe Alan Smithee likes this.

You nailed it! GGG fought like Loma did against Teofimo! Just like the Breadman said yesterday. The only real shot that GGG had was to go all out. Would he have gotten knocked out in the process? Maybe but a wide points loss was his other option. He is too old and slow to use the strategies of the first two fights!

Even in the last few rds GGG didn't do sh.t, idk what the so called "late rally" was. But I guess standing still getting peiced up is more exciting than backing up getting pieced up.
