Comments Thread For: Canelo on Golovkin's Late Rally: It Didn't Surprise Me, He's a Strong Fighter

T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas - In their anticipated trilogy fight, Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (58-2-2, 39 KOs) was too young and too good, as he dominated Gennadiy Golovkin (42-2-1, 37 KOs) for the majority of the fight for a twelve round unanimous decision to retain the undisputed super middleweight crown.

He rallied because after round 8 you gassed out yet again for the second consecutive fight. If that was Benavidez or Charlo you woud have gotten knocked the fúck out. Canelo is lucky he gassed out against a 40yr old senior citizen and not a hungry lion like those two.

Man, fight Beterbiev, gas out like that, and you are dead.

Canelo must cherry pick carefully if he wants to continue winning.

His matchmakers watching Beterbiev very closely and just waiting for him to age as they did ggg very simple strategy

People hate on Canelo because he just isn’t great of what you but huggers make him out to be. Cong**** he looked terrible against a 40 year old fighter lmao. We all see what happened against finally a legit opponent in Bivol. Have him fight bivol again, zurdo or artur and he gets fleeced again. You but huggers make a big deal how good canelo is. Same scrubs who said he’d knock out bivol, were delusional once he lost, and still are.

Ggg at 40 and fighting at 168 for the first time gave Canelo a better run for his money than any of those 168 pound “champions” which goes to show you how weak that division was. Canelo hasn’t improved over the yrs as much as people think, he just looks great against average opposition. The bigger issue is Canelo’s poor stamina. Once ggg decided to throw caution to the wind, canelo gassed in the championship rounds. And that’s why someone like Benavidez has been avoided. He won’t let canelo fight at his pace like those Uk guys and plant did.

The judges should have given the fight to Golovkin to make up for the unjust scoring in the first two fights.

I saw an interview after the fight and canelo said he is going to have surgery on his hand and a procedure for his knee. He said he hasn't been able to run normally that's probably why he's gassing in his last 2 fights. Against Bivol he said he did no running in training, Against GGG he said he did some. It was an easy dominant win for Canelo. GGG didn't look the same.
