  • Comments Thread For: Ali Akhmedov Boxes Past Gabe Rosado For Dominant Decision Win

LAS VEGAS - Gabe Rosado didn't have another upset left in his 36-year-old body Saturday night. Ali Akhmedov handled the gritty veteran the way the 7-1 odds suggested he would in their 10-round super middleweight match at T-Mobile Arena. Kazakhstan's Akhmedov landed the more effective punches with more regularity in their Canelo Alvarez-Gennadiy Golovkin undercard fight and won a unanimous decision.

I don't like saying guys should retire but other than one punch against someone with extreme aggression and an equally shot Jacob's, gabe has looked awful for a bit now.

He definitely does not pull the trigger quite the same on his punches and he is basically a name for a prospect this point and not even a gatekeeper.

You had a cool career man

Fake fight. Gabe has been rubbish for a while but you could tell he was with holding a lot. He was just paid to make this guy look good. More like WWE than boxing. I think Gabe has got to a stage where if he wants to be booked he has to get beat so an upcoming fighter can have a recognisable name on his resume.

Been such a huge fan of Gabe for years but I can't watch him going out like this it's time to call it a day the decision loss to Mosley jnr was it for me. He is THE definition of a warrior he has fought everyone and anyone and always turned up but the skills aren't what they were. War Gabe!

No, as we predicted, guys that put Roach in the corner are taking L's. Every time.

Gabe Rosado has heart and was always fan friendly. He is now a trial horse and if he needs the money then who are we to tell a man to retire but if he is set financially then he has to think twice before stepping back in the ring. No sense in risking further damage if it is not necessary!

You couldn't be more wrong. He knocked cold an unbeaten prospect 4 fights back and still got fights with Mungia, Mosley Jr, and now the guy he fought tonight. He wasn't paid to lose a fight, he was the underdog. He's lost 15 fights and is 36 years old. It is what it is.
