I expected Canelo to win more comfortably this time but was also expecting a competitive fight. GGG was the embodiment of his whole career tonight: disappointing, could've done more, should've done more but seemed content with underachieving.

I remember when Golovkin was rising. He was, quite simply, the bogeyman. Gabe Rosado, who is usually a crowd-pleasing guy who comes to fight, was literally running during their encounter. But Canelo did what Canelo does, and took on GGG. Yeah, Golovkin might’ve been losing steam even back then, but Alvarez accepted the challenge. One can certainly say GGG never lived up to his potential, but one can also note he didn’t get a shot until rather late.
