Despite not on the same level with the first two fights, easily biggest fight of 2022.

I believe this is still a highly competitive fight for the boxing public. While I believe Canelo purposely waited to fight GGG again, because he'd like GGG to age a bit, I feel that Canelo did not want to face GGG a couple of years back if it meant the fight would've taken place in a gym full of REMOTE spectators. There's more excitement and money out there if it takes place in packed arena.

Unless you are a hardcore boxing fan there is not much buzz for this fight, significantly less then the previous 2. A factor is it being on DAZN. Both of the previous fights were on HBO before ESPN and FOX really got involved in boxing. HBO had it's own sister stations promoting it non stop and sports networks like ESPN and FOX both covered the first 2 fights a lot giving free advertisement. Now both ESPN and FOX are financially invested in boxing and put out their own content and DAZN is a direct competitor who they rarely promote. HBO at the time was not a competitor they sent Stephen A and Skip Bayless to Las Vegas for those fights and all their daily shows were talking about those fights all week long leading to the fight. You also have fans upset with the bait and switch with DAZN now forcing subscribers to pay additional PPV costs after years advertising DAZN as the death of PPV no PPV.greeneye99 likes this.

We've all seen this song and dance before. This fight is a set up in order to make Canelo look good. I'll pass on this one because there is no intrigue in it. Now if Canelo wants my money then tell him to go and fight David Benavidez.
Wow
You think the demand to see Deontay Wilder is there?
Especially when you factor in he lost his last two fights
But
You will waste your $80 on
Deontay Wilder vs Robert Helenius
A Fight set up to make Wilder look good
I Bet You won't pass on that one
Where is the intrigue in that fight?
I'll wait....
Wilder can fight anyone *& still get Your Money

Now they're doing Ppv and it's at a higher price point than the traditional Ppvs. Nobody is hating on Canelo per se but we could've had the 3rd fight on Ppv four years ago when 3G was 36 and not 40. We went through al this BS just to end up right where we started off. As far as Wilder, he is the most popular American HW which means there is an automatic reserved Ppv slot for him. 400k Ppv buys will be successful for because Wilder is going to get the lion's share and Robery probably being guaranteed a milly. There is intrigue in that fight because if Wilder wins then that sets up a 3 belt fight between him and Usyk. If Wilder knocks out Usyk then that allows Haymon to make Wilder v Andy, AJ and Sanchez. And those are HUGE Ppv events. The only intrigue that 3G v Canelo has is if 3G wins and has 6 belts in two divisions that upsets the entire apple cart and makes 3G the king of the world and with the fights he can setup at PBC he'll be looking at 100 mill plus over the next few years!
My argument is simple
Canelo vs GGG is a better & more successful event that Wilder vs Helenius
According to you.....
Let's see the 400k that watches this event
I'll bet You not
