Comments Thread For: Malik Scott Believes Jaron Ennis Stops Keith Thurman

Jaron "Boots" Ennis has begged and pleaded with the rest of the upper echelon of the welterweight division to step foot inside the ring against him.

Can’t argue with Scott’s point here, Ennis is ascending and Thurman’s is descending. It would be a great stepping stone fight for Jaron.

Boots is far to inactive for a up and coming welterweight without a break out victory. He should be boxing every 3 months even if its at the slight lower tier of Welterweights. 1 fight this year so far and only 2 outings last year isnt good for young hungry fighter with so much potential

Malik Scott hasn't put in work with either guy. He's a heavyweight. He wouldn't have any more of an idea who beats who than any other joe schmo on the street who has seen them fight.

I agree, Boots Ennis is something else.

But remain humble, because you know someone is going to test you greatly in that ring, no matter how talented you are.

You can be Robinson, Ali, Marciano, Leonard, Mayweather, but someone always gives the greats a very hard fight.

Why are we still talking about Thurman? He don't want that work! Let's hope we get Boots vs. Stanionis! That's a better fight, and Stanionis isn't a coward like Keith!

I don't know, I think it would be a very good fight. With Thurman's style of constant movement, in and out with the jab and power shots, plus his ring IQ, I believe it could be very entertaining. I know that Boots is a very good fighter, but he hasn't been in with a top tier fighter yet and he needs to work on his defense. I could see it going either way, but I would lean towards Boots because of Keith's inactivity.

In order to stop Keith it’d have to be a one punch KO that puts him unconscious . Keith isn’t gonna quit and even a perfect body shot won’t keep him down he’s already shown that. I’d say he has what it takes to beat him I don’t see him stopping him.

Lets assume Thurman is one of Haymon's favorites like Wilder and Santa Cruz. Thurman could have gone to the UK to fight an inexperienced pint-size welterweight for east O2 money but instead is going to step in the ring with an oversized welterweight who can switch. It would have been better just to take reasonable money vs Crawford and get stopped in the process. And Crawford would stop in him in the current form he is in. It won't be any of the carrying him like he did his childhood amateur buddy Porter.

I just saw Thurman getting walk down in points of a fight with a guy Davis stopped who came up from 135
