I hope Caleb can come back and have another championship run. Hard to not root for a man who has a story like his.
After this Dirrell fight though he does need to start stepping up the competition. People like Dirrell have become a “good loser” in boxing so promoters seem to use him again and again, taking away opportunities from other fighters of being showcased themselves.

I like plant and wish him the best. He been through a lot. His skills aren’t as good as he thinks they are but he’s not quite a bum. Solid fighter who overachieved due his determination. Hard not to pull for him
Losing is only a problem if you fight once every two years... People knows that if you fight 3 or 4 times a year it is very likely that you lose a fight or two. The thing is these guys (Plant, Saunders and many more) lose once and freeze for 2 years. Then they pick easy comeback fights, and by the time they are ready to fight someone more or less good, nobody is interested in them anymore.
Maidana, Donaire, Cotto are good examples of how to handle losses and still be fan favourites.
I like plant and I want to see him do well. He has a stamina problem and I don’t know why that is? Is it mismanagement of energy spendature early on or is it that he needs to be fighting at a higher weight, is it a cardio-pulmonary issue? What ever it is he seems to tire by the 8th round. I’ve always thought he should sit down on his punches more. Since we have seen his chin fail and recovery powers absent, perhaps he needs to work more on head movement and a bit less of the foot movement. Solve two problems with one stone.
additionally, he needs a real trainer
