Carl Froch also used to train at the sports institute, or has trained their for some of his biggest fights.
I don't think there is anything wrong with Joshua training their. Peter Fury has went on record stating 'That he thinks Joshua is pretty much the hardest worker in the game'.
I don't think Joshua's work ethic is in question.
But? There will be no harm in Joshua making a new sacrifice and experiencing something different 'For his next training camp'.
I don't think anybody is right on this thread. Some fighters train in groups, others in solitary confinement almost.
Who is their in California that will push Joshua? What Heavyweights? Joshua will turn up their and still pretty much be the apex fighter.
I used to watch videos of training from Floyd Mayweather Junior's gym. Now that gym seemed extremely competitive, brutal.Comment

Wherever he trains , he can't train any harder than he has.The truth is Joshua has the beating of many at heavyweight but a few will always beat him . He is possibly in the top five but is vulnerable to fighters with a dig and tricky guys like Usyk and Fury who have much better skills than him.He looked better in the rematch and maybe the best he's been but he still fell short .....that's Joshua.
In the sports institute, there will also be other fighters. Who are in the game solely to be the best 'That is what the amateur game is about'.
The professional game not so much? There are plenty of fighters in the professional game who train not really at the maximum.
Fighters pick up bad lifestyle habits.
Somebody like Adrian Broner, was probably training harder as a Amateur than as a professional etc.
When it comes to work ethic, the only real fighters who can rival Joshua are his closet competitors 'Such as Usyk himself'.Last edited by PRINCEKOOL; 08-30-2022, 05:50 AM.Comment

That’s what AJ always lacked
he’s always trained in that lottery funded sports institute, it’s not a real boxing gym. Him and his friends treat it like a holiday camp.
I’ve always believed that’s why he has no veteran tactics in the ring, the dark arts of using your size etc getting dirty.
they are things you learn in proper gyms, they toughen you up. Fury was about 19 or 20 when he just jumped on a plane to Detroit on his own and looked for the Kronk gym and met Manny, and obviously Sugar Hill. I can’t imagine AJ ever doing that on his own accord. He’s always wanted his little comfort zone, that’s why he never left that funded sports centre after he left the Olympic set up. I believe that mentality out of ring follows you into the ring.
Because I just don't see any gyms around like that anymore.
Joshua could turn up to a gym wherever, at he is pretty much going to be the apex fighter. What gyms have heavyweights or a culture of heavyweights that will push him?
It is only Joshua's rivals who can push him. I have been listening to both Dominic Ingle and Peter Fury of late, and I think they would be good trainers for Joshua.
Just some of the things Fury was saying, I wonder if the Fury's would welcome Joshua?
Adam Booth, Dominic Ingle, Peter Fury, Don Charles. All good trainers.
Note: Tyson Fury has never been a bare knuckle fighter, but being in and around that culture coming up. He would of seen and learnt certain skills, certain ways of conduct of man or fighter in the arena of violence.Last edited by PRINCEKOOL; 08-30-2022, 04:03 PM.Comment

There some good comments in here, then some not so good ones! Haha. AJ looked good with Garcia in his corner, he put in a good performance but was the lesser man on the night. There are plenty of good trainers here too in the UK that have been suggested, I would add Ben Davison to that list as well. If as suggested by Garcia he does a 2 month camp in California before he fights, he can still use his current home to tick over and still be around the elite amateur environment as he always has been.Comment
