Comments Thread For: Tyson Fury Granted One-Week Extension To Decide On WBC Heavyweight Title Status

Tyson Fury now has one more week to figure out his latest retirement plans. The World Boxing Council (WBC) has extended its deadline to September 2nd for confirmation from Fury on whether he plans to retain the sanctioning body's heavyweight title. The unbeaten lineal/WBC king was originally required to decide in writing by Friday of his decision, with an extension granted as Fury continues to mourn the loss of his cousin Rico Burton who was recently stabbed to death.

”A report from Sky Sports on Friday suggested that Fury has instructed his promotional team to inform the WBC of his decision to keep the belt. Such claims have yet to be publicly confirmed by Hall of Fame promoters Frank Warren or Bob Arum, whose offices did not immediately return a message seeking comment as this goes to publish.“

He reminded me of the predator in that pic. Either way, he’s a beast, usyk’s a beast, and I want to see the fight. I don’t care about the politics, a/b side, pressers, how many ppvs or site fees involved… This fight will be good

Cause Tyson Fury doesn’t stick to his words, he’s a yapper.

Stat true to your words, let’s see you pass on this fight.

This is the big difference between Tyson and Usyk. Character; one talks nonstop like a HW Teofimo.

6 videos on twitter since Saturday’s fight from the retired man. Damn I want Usyk to TKO this harpoon out.

The RING magazine did not hesitate and played Tyson's games when Fury announced his retirement. Said title is now in the hands of a man worthy of being called champion.

We don’t need vacant belts and more Charles Martin fake champs. Was bad enough during joke interim era.

Sulaiman has no principles, same as Fury.
