    UFC 103 v Mayweather v Marquez

I watched the Marquez v Mayweather card (live) last night at a friends house (MMA fan) followed directly by UFC 103.

Alls i can say is Boxing really did show MMA up last night a the inferior sport in all departments. After watching Katsidis battle for 12 rounds in a highly entertaining contest, after watching an enjoyable John v Juarez, and then marveling at Floyds awesome skills (although he showed little class re the weight) I sat through a card of MMA which was slightly entertaining but terrible on a technical level!

UFC 103 had plenty of KO's but it just bore the **** out of me as the fighters may as well have been druken brawlers swinging for the fences! By no means was there a great amount of technical ability on show. The only way i can describe the UFC crowd is trailer park trash most guys either had a skin head or a tooth missing. Dont gete wrong I do like MMA, hell I do it twice a week but it just cant compete with the excitment generated by Boxing.

I think last night backfired on Dana White last night as my MMA friend who rarely watches boxing was a lot more impressed with the boxing card and is now looking forward to Haye - Valuev and Pac - Cotto more than Machida - Rua or Brocks next fight.

Even though the main event was dissapointing (to me at least) i could still appreciate how talented PBF is, he is a talent that just dosent exsist in MMA.

Im saying that boxing dominates from the technical standpoint, which it does. For the average guy at the bar who is half wasted and wants to see dudes gettin knocked out UFC is gonna win everytime!

So let me get this straight. You are informing us that boxers have better boxing than MMA fighters? Amazing!

Next your going to tell us MMA fighters from a technical standpoint have better wrestling than boxers!

I like Judo, but I'm not going to say Judo is the best technical sport because no one throws punches and kicks in Judo.

And I love how people undermind the grappling as not being "technical".

Much love to Kats/Escobedo and Juarez/John, but they should've been the main card instead of Floyd ****ing around for 12 rounds.

Ricky Story bulldozing his way into the spotlight, Paul Daley sending the possible welter contender Martin Kampmann to ******land, Efrain taking out a Miller brother and Dos Santo solidifying his place among the Heavyweights made this event great.

Sure, Mayweather/Marquez is gonna win, but I'm pretty much cool with UFC's performance.

of course, its at a bar! anybody can understand whats goin on in mma, it takes a lil higher intelect to understand boxing, your compairing jazz to heavy metal, both are good music, but you have to actually know a lil something about music to enjoy jazz.

I'm hardly a boxing genius, but even I could have defended myself against the strikes of Paul Daley, and he was one of the better standup boxers at UFC 103. Seriously, a lot of UFC fights are predominantly standup anyway. So it's pretty obvious that MMA stars do not have the skills to even become fundamentally proficient in boxing...that's the reason why they are fighters instead of artists.
