Has light welterweight surpassed the lightweight division?

Don't get me wrong the lightweight division still has noteworthy fighters to match up but they aren't as active as the weight division above them. Plus, there has seems to have been an increase in fighters recently at super lightweight.

    The light welterweight division has:

    1# Josh Taylor
    2# Jose Carlos Ramirez
    3# Teofimo Lopez
    4# Jack Caterall
    5# Sandor Martin
    6# Gary Antuanne Russell
    7# Regis Prograis
    8# Jose Zepeda
    9# Ryan Garcia
    10# Arnold Barboza Jr
    11# Subriel Matias
    12# Montana Love
    13# Sergey Lipinets
    14# Jeremias Nicolas Ponce
    15# Alberto Puello
    16# Viktor Postol
    17# Jose Pedraza
    18# Ohara Davies
    19# Richardson Hitchins
    20# Brandun Lee
    21# Danielito Zorilla
    22# Liam Pero
    23# Lindolfo Delgado

And even then, there is some upcoming fighters from lightweight migrating to this division such as Richard Commey and Robert Easter Jr or non-top ranked fighters like Omar Aguilar or Omar Juarez.

Yeah. It's pretty stacked in terms of fighters. They're some good matchups to be made in this division but I doubt they'll get made.

Damn! That Division is Stacked for sure Woah! I still put Akhmedov in that Mix, the man arguably been robbed twice now but with that Power, Inside Fighting, Body Work and Relentless Pressure. I don't see too many being able to withstand that like Puello did

Thought it be interesting to revisit this thread after such a performance between Matias and Ponce, the rankings might have changed compared to last year, but all the contenders mentioned are still active contenders.

Also, it seems to Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney are going to join the mix soon after their matches at lightweight. Not sure how they fair against the top contenders until watching their fight's against Gervonta "Tank" Davis and Vasiliy Lomachenko.

Yes and by a considerable margin.

Here’s to hoping you’re wrong but in all likelihood, you probably right.

The division needs a money man. I guess Teo becomes that if he beats Taylor
